Head Coach
Washington will begin his third season as head track and field and cross country coach at Sul Ross. Washington, who also serves as Director of Recreational Programs at Sul Ross State, was a hurdler and a wide receiver for the football team at Lubbock Estacado High School. He played football for a year at Abilene Christian, and then transferred to Angelo State, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Management in 2010, and a Master of Education in Coaching, Sport, Recreation and Fitness in 2012. Washington has ten years experience working in a highly developed recreational sports program at Angelo State University. Washington served as an intramural official and supervisor, assistant director of summer sport camps and as a graduate assistant for intramural sports and sport clubs. His responsibilities included administration, budgeting, scheduling and supervision of intramural sports and summer camp programs. Washington also recruited, hired, trained, scheduled, supervised and evaluated more than 100 interns, student supervisors and officials. Im excited about helping out, its a new challenge, said Washington. Im familiar with playing sports, Im pretty organized, and I have the background as far as planning things. Its going to be a little different, but I dont think it will be too hard. Antuan is a respected employee here at Sul Ross State, said SRSU Director of Athletics Bobby Mesker. .His organizational skills, attention to detail and the relationships he forms with students makes him a perfect fit for this spring.

Asrelle Anderson
Assistant Coach
Anderson will continue to be a part of the coaching staff, where she will assist Head Coach Antuan Washington for her 2 nd season, in addition to coaching the Sul Ross State Cheerleaders. Anderson has coached a variety of sports here at Sul Ross. In 2014 during her first season of coaching for the womens basketball team. She gained valuable experience organizing individual player workouts, recruitment of student-athletes and recording game statistics. Anderson helped coach two of her players to conference postseason honors including ASC Freshmen of the Year and Honorable-Mention All- Conference. In 2016 she coached both men and women sprinters which led to ASC Champions in both 4 x l meter relays, and the womens 4 x4 relay. In conclusion to the ASC Champions the men received runner-up and women placed third. Additionally, the mens 4 x1 meter relay competed at Nationals in Waverly, Iowa Throughout her playing career, Anderson led the Lobos in scoring in each of her final two seasons, averaging 14 points per game as a junior during the 2012-13 season and 9.5 points per game while playing 19.5 minutes per game last year in a system in which 10 players saw the majority of the playing time. She started all 24 games that she appeared in, and led SRSU with 89 field goals while being named the American Southwest Conference's Women's Basketball Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year. As a junior, she was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. A native of Austin, TX, Anderson played basketball and volleyball and competed in track and field at Crockett High School. She played basketball at Clarendon Junior College before transferring to Sul Ross State to finish her career. Anderson earned her Bachelors Degree at Sul Ross State University with a major in Kinesiology and Sports Science, while minoring in Communication and received her M. Ed in Special Education in May 2016.
