Brad Smith

Head Coach

Smith  is in his second season as the head swimming & diving coach at Binghamton University. He arrived in 2014 from Western Colorado, where he was the head womens coach the previous two years. In addition, Smith was also the assistant coach at Maine from 2009-12. In his first season at Binghamton Smith guided the men's swimming and diving team to a fourth place finish at the ECAC Championships. The women also finished in fourth place at the America East Championships, capturing three individual championships. Smith was named the head womens coach at Western Colorado in 2012, when the program became an intercollegiate sport at the NCAA Division II level. The Mountaineers had previously sponsored an NCAA swimming program from 1960-84. In his two years at the helm, Smith oversaw a squad that produced a NCAA qualifier, set 84 team and pool records and was named a Scholar All-American team in 2014. In addition, Western Colorado had an all-conference swimmer and three academic all-conference honorees during his tenure. At Maine, Smith was the assistant coach when the Black Bear mens squad placed fourth at the 2011 America East Championships their highest finish in a decade. During his final two years, Maine broke a total of 21 school records. According to avidasports, the Black Bear mens team ranked ninth nationally in terms of yearly improvement in 2011 while the women were sixth nationally the following year. A 2007 graduate of Vermont, Smith was a four-year letterwinner for the Catamounts. Eric DeLuca

Assistant Coach

DeLuca joins the Binghamton swimming & diving team as an assistant coach for the 2015-16 season.   Deluca was a four-time letter winner for the Maine Black Bears from 2009-12. He was selected to multiple America East Honor Rolls, received the Presidential Academic Achievement Award, and was a member of Team Maine for having the highest GPA on the mens swim team.   This is DeLucas first time coaching at the collegiate level. Prior to Binghamton, DeLuca was prominent in the Minnesota swimming community, serving as the head coach at St. Paul Central High School, assistant coach at The Blake School, and head age group coach for the Phoenix Swim Team. DeLuca also spent time with the University of Minnesota athletics department as a strength and conditioning intern.
