Tobias Bischof was named the head women's soccer coach on Jan. 24, 2019 by Stony Brook's Director of Athletics Shawn Heilbron. This past season, Bischof guided the Seawolves to a 14-4-3 record, following a strong regular season that saw Stony Brook clinch a share of the regular season championship. The Seawolves won their first-ever CAA Championship, defeating top-seeded Monmouth 2-1 and punching a ticket to the NCAA tournament for a fifth time in program history. Four players received All-CAA honors in 2024: Linn Beck, Kerry Pearson, Luciana Setteducate, and Reilly Rich. Bischof’s guidance in the 2024 campaign saw Beck become the first major award winner in the program’s time in the CAA, being named CAA Co-Midfielder of the Year. Under Bischoff, the Seawolves earned two United Soccer Coaches All-East Region distinctions with Beck named to the second team and Setteducate to the third.         In his first season, Bischof continued the winning tradition, both at his previous school of Hofstra and what was built at Stony Brook, earning the program's second America East Tournament championship in three years. The squad also won its second regular-season title in as many seasons. The season culminated in a great effort at fourth-seeded Penn State, in which the team scored its first-ever NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship goal and led at halftime, 1-0. The result ended 3-1 in favor of the Nittany Lions. The team's newly-implemented, high-pressing style of play helped wreak havoc on opponents throughout the league, as Stony Brook led the America East in nine of the NCAA's 18 statistical categories, including total assists, total goals, and total points. Under his direction was the emergence of two stars in the region, juniors Alyssa Francese and Sofia Manner. Francese was fifth in the nation in game-winning goals with seven and inside the top 50 nationally with 12 goals on the campaign. Manner also found herself inside the top 50 at the end of the year in clean sheets, with eight, and total saves, with 90. In the 2020 season, Bischof continued to guide the Seawolves into new heights by returning to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons after they earned the America East postseason crown with a 1-0 victory against Binghamton in the league championship match. The Seawolves and Bischof completed their season with a 6-4 (4-1 America East) overall record following a defeat by Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  Before Bischof led the Seawolves into their first campaign in the CAA in 2022, the squad went 7-8-2 (4-4-1 America East) and helped Stony Brook legends Alyssa Francese and Chelsie DePonte earn All-Conference honors for their performance during the season. DePonte was named the 2021 America East Woman of the Year as well.  Making the change to the CAA in 2022, the Seawolves wasted no time making their presence felt in the new league. Bischof led the team to the No. 6 seed in the CAA Tournament following a 7-7-4 (4-1-3 CAA) record during the season. Stony Brook earned their first win in the conference in historic fashion after they defeated Hampton 12-0 on Sept. 25, 2022. The 12 goals by the squad shattered a 29-year-old program record of most goals in a game. The previous record came against Iona in 1993 when the Seawolves scored nine goals.  He guided Catharina von Drigalski, Reilly Rich, and Linn Beck to become the first student-athletes in program history to take home CAA All-Conference awards.   Stony Brook returned to the CAA Tournament in 2023 by earning a No. 6 seed after it went 6-5-6 (4-3-4 CAA) during the regular season. The squad picked up its first victories in program history over Elon, William & Mary, and Drexel. He helped four more student-athletes earn All-CAA recognition as senior defender Kerry Pearson became the first player in program history to earn First Team All Conference accolades, while senior forward Reilly Rich was selected to the Second Team, sophomore midfielder Linn Beck was selected to the Third Team, and freshman Ashley Bell earned All-Rookie honors.    Bischof, no stranger to Long Island, has spent the last eight seasons with the Pride, the last four as the Associate Head Coach. He helped guide Hofstra to the NCAA Tournament four times, including this past fall when they posted a 16-6-1 overall record and earned a first-round victory over 22nd-ranked Boston College. The Pride also advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2012, 2015, and 2017. During Bischof’s time in Hempstead, Hofstra compiled a 98-53-12 record and notched a winning season in every campaign.    "Tobi is a proven winner who will make an immediate impact on Stony Brook women's soccer,” Heilbron said. “Our program is on a rapidly ascending trajectory, and I have every confidence that it will continue under Tobi's leadership. I would also like to thank Hofstra Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. and Coach Simon Riddiough for their mentorship and preparing me for the next step in my career.”   Off the field, Bischof has helped the Pride become one of the top academic programs in the CAA. In 2017-18, Hofstra Women's Soccer earned a CAA Team Academic Excellence Award as the women's soccer program with the best team GPA in the conference. The team also posted a department-best 3.68 GPA in Spring 2018. Under Bischof's guidance, Madeline Anderson was named a United Soccer Coaches Academic All-American. Over his time at Stony Brook, Bischof has led the team to United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award four different occasions and guided the team to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award. He's also helped 8 different student-athletes earn All-CSC or All-Academic honors for their performances in the classroom and on the field.    In the summer of 2015, Bischof led the club team Massapequa Arsenal to the McGuire Cup as the national champion in the Boys Under-19 division at the U.S. Youth Soccer Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The McGuire Cup has been contested since 1935 and is billed as the oldest trophy in youth sports.    Bischof came to Hofstra in 2011 after a decade of prominent involvement in Long Island soccer, particularly at the youth level. A well-respected coach with a history of success, Bischof has coached in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) and in the U.S. Club Soccer National Premier Leagues (NPL), where he took a U16 boys team to the National Final in 2012. Bischof had tremendous success with his youth programs, leading two U-15 teams - the East Meadow Sparks U-15 Girls and the Massapequa Arsenal U-15 Boys - to state championships in the New York State Open Cup during the summer of 2011. Overall, he has coached winners of six state cups and led 11 teams to the state finals between 2006 and 2016. In 2018, he had a pair of teams reach the national playoffs, with his U16 team winning the ECNL Showcase Cup. He has also coached in the Region 1 Premier League and the North East Regional Premier League.   In addition, Bischof has run a select coaching program to prepare athletes for collegiate soccer, helping to place dozens of his youth players into college programs. He served as the Select PDP program administrator for the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL), a program that included more than 500 players.   A native of Winterstein, Germany, Bischof played soccer in his native country after graduating from high school. In 1997, he enrolled at Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena, Germany, where he earned a master’s degree in sports science, finishing in the top 10 percent of his class. He also coached youth soccer in Germany, primarily with 16- and 17-year-olds, before coming to the United States.     Bischof first moved to Long Island in 2002. He worked with the Long Island Rough Riders of the Premier Development League (PDL) after Globall Soccer purchased the team.   WHAT THEY ARE SAYING…   RICK COLE JR., Hofstra Director of Athletics “We are thrilled for Tobi and his new role as the head coach at Stony Brook. Grogan begins her first season as an Assistant Coach after serving as a volunteer assistant on the 2018 squad that won 11 games and an America East Regular Season title. The team lost just one of its eight games en route to the title.   Before joining the Seawolves staff, she coached the U12 and U13 teams for NY Surf Soccer during the 2018-19 campaign, winning the NYCSL NPL Championship with the U13 team. Her other club experience includes currently coaching Farmingdale SC/East Meadow SCs U15 and U18 Girls ERCL teams.   She also coached the FC Tampa Rangers U17 and U13 Girls teams between 2016-18.   In her playing career, the Easthampton, N.J. native helped Stony Brook to an America East Tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth in 2012 while leading the program to its first regular-season title in 2013. She served as a captain on the 2013 and 2014 teams. She also ran track during the 2014-15 season.   Her playing time also took her to the WPSLs Jersey Blues FC in 2012 and 2013 and the Tampa Bay Hellenic in 2016. She graduated from Stony Brook in 2015 with a degree in coastal environmental studies and has spent the last three years earning her Masters degree in biology at the University of South Florida.

Diallo joined the Seawolves after spending the previous five seasons (2015-2020) with New York Institute of Technology. Diallo served as the assistant coach from 2015-18, before being promoted to the head coach in 2018 and reached the conference finals in 2019. In 2024, Diallo helped guide the Seawolves to a 14-4-3 record, following a strong regular season that saw Stony Brook clinch a share of the regular season championship. The Seawolves won their first-ever CAA Championship, defeating top-seeded Monmouth 2-1 and punching a ticket to the NCAA tournament for a fifth time in program history. Diallo helped four players earn All-CAA honors in 2024, in addition to Linn Beck receiving the first major award in the program’s time in the CAA, being named CAA Co-Midfielder of the Year.  In his first season with the Seawolves, Diallo helped the squad to a 6-6-6 overall record that earned the squad their second consecutive trip to the CAA Tournament. He guided senior defender Kerry Pearson to become the first player in program history to earn First Team All-Conference accolades. Diallo was also instrumental in the help of senior forward Reilly Rich earning Second Team, midfielder Linn Beck Third Team selction and freshman Ashley Bell earning All-Rookie honors.  The native of Guinea in West Africa, Diallo came to the United States to play soccer collegiately at Dowling. His squad won three conference titles during his playing tenure with the school (1998, 2000, and 2001), earned All-Conference and All-Region honors twice (2000 and 2001), and was a member of the All Final Four team in 2001.  Following his graduation in 2002, Diallo went on to play one season professionally with the Long Island Rough Riders, where he was named national Co-Defensive Player of the Year and won a Premier Development League title. Then, he rejoined Dowling College as the men's soccer volunteer assistant coach from August 2002 to December 2004. After finishing his time as a graduate assistant for the men's program from 2005-2007, Diallo joined the women's soccer team at Dowling as the volunteer assistant coach from August 2008 to 2012, before being promoted to assistant coach from August 2012 to November 2015.   He has a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in adolescent education from Dowling. Also, Diallo earned his NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, US Soccer Federation F License, and US Soccer Federation E License.  Diallo serves as a youth trainer and coach with the East Islip, Smithtown, and Albertson soccer clubs and the Long Island Junior Soccer development program. He currently resides in Central Islip, N.Y.

Sydney Blomquist joined the Seawolves' staff as an assistant coach in February 2026. Blomquist came to Long Island after one season on staff at Florida Gulf Coast University. In her lone season in Fort Myers with FGCU, Blomquist helped the Eagles to 11 overall wins and an 8-1-1 mark in conference play. Blomquist arrived at FGCU following a nine-year professional career, having competed in top leagues around the world. Her most recent professional stint was with SC Telstar in the top Dutch professional league (Vrouwen Eredivisie). Prior to her season in the Netherlands, Blomquist played for Detroit City FC in the United States, where she earned 'Black Arrow' honors as the team's most valuable player. Blomquist also played professionally in Norway, France, Brazil, Portugal, Finland and Sweden. During her time in Brazil, her team claimed their second Copa Libertadores Championship. While with Åland United in Finland, she helped lead the team to a bronze-medal finish in the Finnish Cup. In Sweden, she guided Västerås BK30 to a 2016 championship and a promotion. Blomquist played collegiately at the University of Akron and the University of Louisville. While with the Cardinals, she helped the team win a Big East Regular Season Championship and reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
