Frank Marcinek is in his 42nd year with Susquehanna University Men's Basketball in 2025-26 and 37th as head coach. During his tenure, he has guided 23 of his 36 squads to at least a berth in the conference tournament. Susquehanna has made six NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship Tournament appearances under Marcinek's leadership, including a Sweet 16 run in 2016-17. A basketball institution in the Central Pennsylvania region, Marcinek has spanned generations as one of the best Division III basketball coaches in the country. A fierce competitor, Marcinek demands as much from himself as he does from his teams, squads that play with discipline, toughness and desire. Chad Bailey

Assistant Coach

Chad Bailey enters his 24th season on the Susquehanna coaching staff for the 2024-25 season. Bailey is involved in all aspects of the program. A native of Mifflinburg, Pa., and a 1988 graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School, Bailey began his collegiate playing career at Division III York College of Pennsylvania before transferring to Lycoming College. He graduated in 1992 from Lycoming with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and began his coaching career at Athens (Pa.) Area High School that fall. After coaching junior varsity high school basketball at Athens for one year, Bailey coached junior high school basketball at Milton (Pa.) Middle School for several years before becoming an assistant coach at the Pennsylvania College of Technology for the 1999–2000 season. During the 2000–01 season, Bailey returned to Lycoming and served as an assistant basketball coach before coming to Susquehanna for the 2001–02 season. He has been part of four Susquehanna programs that reached the NCAA Tournament (2016, 2017, 2020, 2022), and the Landmark Conference championship game (2016, 2020, 2022, 2024), as well as two that were crowned Landmark champions (2020, 2022). Bailey is a math teacher at Mifflinburg and resides in Lewisburg, Pa., with his wife, Jocelyn.

Mark Prusch '06

Assistant Coach

Mark Prusch ’06 rejoined the Susquehanna coaching staff for men’s basketball as an assistant coach prior to the start of the 2009-10 season. Prusch, who played for Susquehanna from 2001–05 and served as an assistant coach for the team from 2005–07. He served as a men’s graduate assistant for Division II Bloomsburg University during the 2007–08 season before returning to Susquehanna. He has been part of four Susquehanna programs that reached the NCAA Tournament (2016, 2017, 2020, 2022), and the Landmark Conference championship game (2016, 2020, 2022, 2024), as well as two that were crowned Landmark champions (2020, 2022). At Susquehanna, he helped the team win its first outright Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth regular-season championship in 2003 and also earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University in December 2005.

Eldon Hoy

Assistant Coach

Eldon Hoy joined the Susquehanna coaching staff in 2016 after retiring from the Head Coaching position at Mifflinburg High School. He works primarily with the junior varsity players for the River Hawks and continues to serve as Athletic Director and Director of Student Services at Mifflinburg. A graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School (1984), he attended Lock Haven University where he majored in Secondary Education Mathematics with a specialization in Computer Science, graduating in 1988. Since then, Hoy has been teaching various mathematics and computer programming courses in the Mifflinburg Area School District. In 2011, he became the Athletic Director and, in 2017, became the district's Director of Student Services. At Mifflinburg, he coached varsity basketball for 21 years (seven with the girls' program and 14 with the boys' team). In his tenure as head coach of the Mifflinburg Boys' Basketball team, he compiled over 200 wins and won five league championships, culminating in the school's first District IV Championship in the sport of basketball (2011). Eldon's family includes his wife, Lori, and two children, Zac and Kira. His son Zac was a 1,000-point scorer for Messiah College and after two seasons as a graduate assistant coach, he was retained as an assistant coach for the 2017-18 season.

Joe Britto

Assistant Coach

Joe Britto joined Frank Marcinek's men's basketball coaching staff in summer of 2023 as Assistant Coach. The former professional basketball player and standout at UMass Dartmouth joins the River Hawks following six seasons on the coaching staff up Route 15 at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa. "I am excited to welcome Joe to our program," said Marcinek. "He brings a great deal of experience with him; he has coached at the collegiate level, as well as being a head high school coach. "From his time at Lycoming, he knows what it takes to win at a high level and is familiar with many schools on our schedule. "He will be involved in all aspects of our program from scouting, recruiting and player development. I believe Joe is the perfect fit for what we were looking for in a member of our staff." "Excited to start the next chapter of my coaching career at a great program like Susquehanna MBB," said Britto. "Looking forward to both working with and learning from a great staff. Excited to begin working with the players and sharing my knowledge and experiences with them." Active in all parts of Warriors Basketball, Britto helped with game planning, recruitment and practice and preparation with the team. In his ride with the Warriors, Britto mentored 10 all-conference players, two MAC Commonwealth Rookies of the Year, helped the team win two conference titles and reach a conference title game three times. The team posted a 85-56 record in six years in Williamsport. Britto played two seasons at UMass Dartmouth where he averaged 15.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, earning Little East Conference Player of the Week three times. He spent the first two collegiate basketball seasons with Dean College averaging 14 points and seven rebounds at the then-junior college. Britto helped the Bulldogs win a regional title, earning all-tournament and Second Team All-American accolades. Following his collegiate career, Britto traveled the world playing professional basketball. He started his professional career in 2005 where he played in France, Portugal, and Africa for the Cape Verdean National team. He has also played in China (CBA), Mexico (LNBP), and America (WBA, ABA, USBL, Pro Am). He reached the NBA Developmental League in 2008 when we was drafted by the Bakersfield Jam, an affiliate for the Orlando Magic and Golden State Warriors. Britto also toured with the Harlem Wizards.  He also completed an internship at Bucknell University with the strength and conditioning program, working with all of the men and women sports teams. Britto earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice in 2012 and a Master of Science in Exercise Science in 2017 from Bloomsburg University. Britto entered coaching in 2012 when he assisted Bloomsburg for a season before taking over the head coaching position at Southern Columbia High School. He helped lead the Tigers to a 74-48 record with four playoff appearances including two of those runs going into the state tournament in five years at the helm.
