Susquehanna University Men's Golf

EDUCATION Graduate School Teaching Certification - Kean University (2013) BA in Political Science and Secondary Education - Susquehanna University (2011) Ryan Redfern '11, an accomplished golfer and two-sport student-athlete at Susquehanna in football, was named Head Men's Golf Coach in summer 2024. A familiar face on campus as he currently serves as the Assistant Registrar, Redfern is also a former student-athlete, having competed on the team from 2007 to 2011 and serving as team captain in 2011. Redfern carries a career scoring average of 78.2 and was a Second Team All-Empire 8 selection in 2010, when the team also won the conference championship. He graduated in 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science and served as a coach and high school teacher in New Jersey for a number of years before returning to Susquehanna in 2018 to serve as an Assistant Football coach. From there, he began working as the Transitions and Completions Coordinator in the Center for Academic Success from 2018 to 2022, before transitioning into his current role as the Assistant Registrar. Redfern came to Susquehanna after coaching football and basketball at Millburn H.S. in New Jersey. He was the head basketball coach for two seasons and was also the defensive coordinator for the football team. Redfern also taught social studies and business at nearby Union H.S. for seven years. The Caldwell, N.J., native joined the Susquehanna football staff as an assistant coach in 2018 and worked primarily with the outside linebackers, helping coach a pair of River Hawks to All-Centennial Conference honors.    Updated July 26, 2025  

Pat DiMartino, a 2014 graduate of Susquehanna University and former member of the golf team, rejoined the program as Assistant Coach in Spring 2026.  A golf teacher in northern New Jersey, DiMartino specializes in the nuances of individualized biomechanics. As one of the area's top instructors for the better part of the last decade, he has developed an in-depth knowledge of ground force usage, short game technique, and strategy analysis through strokes-gained data.  A 2014 Susquehanna graduate, Pat was a four-year member of the golf team and a two-time team captain. Off the golf course, Pat coached football here at SU from 2012-2016 and is currently the defensive coordinator at Chatham High School in New Jersey.   

Yarger attended the Professional Golfers Career College in Winter Garden, Fla. for his associates degree in professional golf management, which he received in 2008. He was captain of the Presidents Cup and also caddied in the International Cup. Yarger is also a certified golf club technician through Golf Works. He is the general manager of K.A. Ash Ltd. in Paxinos as well as the owner of K and B Covered Bridge Construction in Catawissa. Yarger graduated from SU with a bachelors degree in information systems and resides in Danville.
