Coach Mike Barfield enters his first season as the Offensive Line Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the Skylanders. With six seasons of football coaching experience and seven years as a strength coach, Mike has been a pivotal contributor to programs across South Carolina, Delaware, and now New Jersey. Mikes commitment to player development and strength training has resulted in the production of over a dozen All-District linemen. His expertise extends to nutrition coaching, where he has worked with notable professional athletes. In 2023, he was recognized as one of the top nutrition coaches in the nation. Mike holds dual Bachelors Degrees in Sociology and Political Science, along with a Masters in Collegiate Athletic Administration. He is also certified in eight different areas within the exercise and wellness field. Originally from South Carolina, Mike played OL/DL for Lake City High School before walking on at Tusculum University. He currently resides in New Jersey with his wife, Katherine, and their three dogs, Cara, Petey, and Rudy.
