Kosmalskis fourth at the helm of Swarthmore men's basketball program, was a historic one for the Garnet. The team started the season 9-0, finished 13-5 in league play and second in the Centennial Conference standings, won a program-record 22 games (breaking the previous record of 17), and played in the prestigious ECAC postseason tournament, advancing to the championship game. Swarthmore led the Centennial Conference in scoring, field goal percentage defense, rebounding, three-pointers made, and free throw percentage. Nationally, the Garnet ranked fifth in free-throw percentage, ninth in rebounding margin, and 19th in scoring defense. Three Garnet players earned all Centennial Conference honors, including sophomore Matt Brennan (second team), and classmates Robbie Walsh and Zack Yonda (Honorable Mention). Swarthmore led the charge on the conference Academic Honor Roll as well, as a league-leading nine players were honored. For leading the Garnet to second place and the conference tournament championship game after being picked to finish seventh in preseason polls Kosmalski was named Centennial Conference Coach of the Year. Prior to 2015-16, the Garnet had shown significant improvement in Kosmalskis tenure. The teams win total improved each season, as did its position in the conference standings. The 2014-15 Garnet squad finished 11-14 and sophomore Chris Bourne was named Centennial Conference Honorable Mention. A thrilling double-overtime win over Roanoke on their home court in the Cregger Classic championship game provided one of the seasons top highlights. Swarthmore had shown small signs of improvement both on and off the court in 2013-14, Kosmalskis second season. The team once improved its win total and led the league in offensive rebounds per game. Chris Bourne was among the top freshmen in the conference, averaging 11.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while ranking third in the league with a .575 field goal percentage. Five players made the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, which ranked tied for second among 10 teams in the league, and the program exceeded its community service goals. A 2000 graduate of Davidson, Kosmalski arrived at Swarthmore after serving as an assistant coach at his alma mater from 2004-06 and 2009-12. As an assistant coach, he helped lead the Wildcats to a pair of Southern Conference championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances (2006 and 2012). Working primarily with post players, Kosmalski mentored 2012 Southern Conference Player of the Year award winners De'Mon Brooks (coaches) and Jake Cohen (media). Kosmalski also played an integral role in the program's recruiting, scouting, and academic support. In the five seasons that Kosmalski worked on the Davidson coaching staff, the Wildcats posted an overall record of 102-58. Kosmalski had a prolific playing career at Davidson before moving to the coaching staff. One of the best big men in program history, Kosmalski was a four-year starter for the Wildcats, helping lead the 1997-98 squad to the NCAA Tournament. His playing accolades include making the All-Southern Conference First Team in 1999 and 2000 as well as garnering Southern Conference Freshman of the Year laurels in 1997. Kosmalski ranks third all-time at Davidson in rebounding (877), 16th in scoring (1,438), and 12th in steals (121). He was inducted into the Davidson Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. "Landry is the embodiment of the best qualities of Davidson College basketball," said Davidson head coach Bob McKillop. "He was magnificent in all that he did for the program and the Davidson community. Swarthmore is very lucky to have him as their coach. He will be superb for the student-athletes, program, and entire Swarthmore community." Between stints at Davidson, Kosmalski served as head boys' basketball coach and dean of students at the Webb School in Knoxville, Tennessee. As the boys' basketball coach at Webb, he helped improve the team's win total by nine games by his second season. Kosmalski's basketball resume also includes extensive playing and coaching experience overseas. Following his graduation from Davidson in 2000 and until 2004, he played for several professional teams in Sweden and France. In 2006-07, before beginning at Webb, Kosmalski served as head coach of the 08 Stockholm Human Rights Basketball Club developmental team and assistant coach of the professional team. Conor Harkins

Conor Harkins '22 joined the men's basketball coaching staff in 2023-24, and was elevated to a full-time assistant coach in the spring of 2025. Since joining the coaching staff, Harkins has helped lead the Garnet to a Centennial Conference Championship and a 38-18 record over the past two seasons. In his first year, Swarthmore posted a 21-9 record and claimed its second consecutive Centennial Conference Championship with a victory over Johns Hopkins University. The team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 3 Trinity College. Harkins took on an expanded role this past season, helping lead a young Swarthmore squad to a 17-9 overall record. The Garnet earned a spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament for the ninth consecutive year, while standout first-year Zander Jimenez was named both the Centennial Conference and D3Hoops Region V Rookie of the Year. Before transitioning to the coaching staff, Harkins enjoyed a remarkable playing career with the Garnet. One of the top shooters in Centennial Conference history, Harkins averaged 10.7 points per game while shooting 42.8 percent from the field and 41.6 percent from three-point range. He finished his career with 1,297 points—tenth all-time in program history—and holds program records for both single-season and career three-pointers made. Harkins served as a team captain for two seasons, helping lead Swarthmore to an impressive 104-17 overall record and a 10-3 mark in NCAA Tournament play. During his playing career, he was part of four NCAA Tournament teams, one Centennial Conference Championship squad, and made an appearance in the National Championship game. After his collegiate career, Harkins spent a season playing professionally in Ireland’s Division One National League. He averaged 22.6 points per game and was named a Second-Team All-Ireland All-Star. Harkins also served as head coach for an Under-20 National League team during his time abroad.
