Donna Hodgert
Head Coach
Hodgert was the head coach at Randolph College (then Randolph-Macon Women's College) from 1997-2008, earning ODAC Coach of the Year honors in 2004. She took a team that had been at the bottom of the league to as high as third, earning multiple All-ODAC and conference awards. That 2004 Randolph squad placed third at the ODAC championship meet for a second straight season, and featured the conference's Scholar-Athlete of the Year in Lourdes Cuellar. Hodgert also led Randolph to third place ODAC finishes in 2005 and 2006. In 2006 and 2007, she coached ODAC Swimmer of the Year Kim Edmonds. Cuellar also earned an ODAC Rookie of the Year award under Hodgert. Prior to returning to coaching at Sweet Briar, Coach Hodgert worked as the athletic director, physical education teacher, and cross country coach at James River Day school in Lynchburg, Va. Hodgert is an active member of U.S. Masters Swimming and USA Triathlon. She has completed an Ironman triathlon and was U.S. Masters national champion in the 200 fly in 2012. She continues to train for local and national races.
