Head Coach

Standiford led the Bluejays to the  World Series in 2015 and 2014, including four time  Regular Season Champions and post season play for the past four straight years.  In 2015 he guided the Bluejays to 54 wins making it two years with at least 50 wins and adding to the five consecutive years of 40+ wins.  He has accumulated 145 wins and 41 losses for a winning percentage of .780 in the past three years, with 289 wins and 120 losses, and a winning percentage of .707 during his time at Tabor. His teams have broken school records in wins, runs, hits, batting average, RBIs, doubles, triples, home runs, base on balls, fielding percentage, and strikeouts.   Under his leadership, 74 Tabor College players have received All-conference awards.   All-American awards were given to Jeff Hutton (2011), Art Corona (2012), Adam McCormick (2012), Junior Mustain (2014), Jacob Webb (2014), Kirk Rocha (2014) and Dustin Hurlbutt (2015).  Tabor players coached by Standiford that have gone on to play professional baseball include:   2014, 2015       In his college career from 1985 to 1988 at Wichita State University, Standiford hit 69 home runs, a mark that still stands as the all-time team record. As a senior, he led the Shockers in runs, doubles, RBIs, and set the single-season home run record (28). He capped of his senior season by leading the Shockers to the 1988 College World Series, where he was named to the All-Tournament Team. He also earned All-American honors by Collegiate Baseball, and second-team honors by Baseball America.   Called "the most prolific power hitter in Shocker baseball history," Standiford has since been inducted to the Wichita State Pizza Hut Shocker Sports Hall of Fame, the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame, and the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame.   He was drafted in the 16th round by the San Francisco Giants in 1988.  Standiford has for the past 13 years operated Wichita Sluggers, a 50,000 square foot baseball academy and athletic complex, helping young players sharpen their skills. He has helped more than 100 athletes advance to college-level baseball.     Graduated from Wichita State University     Wife - Renee Son Blake Daughter - Taylor     Ext. 1602     Andy began his playing career at Boone High School (Boone, Iowa) where he was named the Mid-Iowa Player of the Year during the 2001 season. After high school he attend Hesston College (Hesston, Kan.) where he was named an All-Region pitcher during his two year career for the Larks. After finishing his degree at Pittsburg State University in 2006, Andy began coaching at NAIA Peru State College (Peru Neb.) from 2007-2012. During his five years with the Bobcats he helped lead them to the schools first ever conference title while also developing the first two pitchers two ever be drafted in the programs history. Andy has also coached the Joplin Outlaws (2009-2011) in the MINK league and the Okotoks  Dawgs (2008 and 2012) in the WMBL league.       Attended Hesston College from 2001-2003 Attended Pittsburg State Univ. from 2003-2006 - earned a BS in Physical Education Attended Pittsburg State Univ. from 2006-2007 - earned a MS in Exercise Science     Married to my wife Kristen, and we have one son, Drew.       I consider myself a teacher of the game of baseball.  Im constantly trying to further educate myself on the game and training techniques so as to better facilitate my individual players and their goals.     Tabor is an outstanding environment for student athletes.  Here, athletes can grow in all aspects of life.  Its a competitive atmosphere where the more important things, such as education and faith, are still the main focus for the students.  Im excited about helping continue the winning tradition that was started here by coach Standiford.     I hope to be a positive example of Christs love to the young men on the team and show them the value of a strong faith, and the importance of a quality education.
