Scott Libby
Head Coach
Scott Libby enters his 18th year as Head Coach at Texas A&M International University after being hired as the second Head Coach in program history in July 2008. A Covina, California native, Libby is entering the 2026 season with a record of 363-and 533, and 208-231 in conference play. While a member of the Heartland Conference, Libby led TAMIU to a record of 136-111 in conference play and a win loss record of 17-20 in HC Tournaments. Libby earned Heartland Conference Co-Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the 2010 season. Additionally, Libby led the Dustdevils to the conference tournament eleven consecutive years, as well as Conference Co-Champions in 2011, and the Heartland Conference Tournament Championship and a berth in the NCAA Regionals also in 2011. In his seventeen years at TAMIU, Libby has coached forty-seven All Conference players, two Conference Players of the Year, three Conference Newcomers of the Year, four Conference Freshmen of the Year, eight Academic All-Americans, and two National Gold Glove recipients in 2024 and 2025. Prior to taking the helm of the Dustdevils, softball program Libby was Head Softball Coach at San Antonio’s William Howard Taft High School from 1997-2008. In the eleven years at Taft, Libby compiled a 241—90 record, leading the Raiders to five district championships, four regional final appearances, and two State semi-finalist runs. Libby was named San Antonio Area Coach of the Year in 1998. Before his strong run at Taft Libby was Assistant Coach at San Antonio’s Oliver Wendell Holmes High School for the 1996/1997 school year helping to lead the Huskies to the State Semi-Finals. Libby played and coached softball while serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1976-1983. While serving in Hawaii (1979-1982), he played for NFCA Hall of Fame Coach Ralph Weekly on the Air Force-Hawaii team, and in all four years participated in the Pacific Air Force Championship Tournament in Okinawa, Japan. Libby graduated from University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in Language Arts. He is married to Michelle, a middle school math teacher in San Antonio, has an adult daughter Eryn, and he and Michelle welcomed their son Jacoby into the world in the spring of 2019.

Anthony Saldivar
Coach
Saldivar comes to us after spending one year at UT-Permian Basin where he helped lead the Falcon softball program to their first ever 20 plus win season. He spent the two seasons prior at McPherson College in Kansas where the Bulldogs went 24-18 in 2021 and 13-5 during the COVID shortened 2020 season. Saldivar spent one year at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas where he helped lead the Saints to 14 wins while having two All-Red River Conference players. Prior to OLLU he spent four years at Texas Southern University as an assistant coach. While at Texas Southern, the Lady Tigers appeared in three Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) tournaments and two SWAC championships, winning one in 2017. After moving to Houston in 2007, Saldivar began coaching with the TX Lite 18U Organization. While there, he helped coach the team for five years prior to joining the Impact Gold Organization in 2012 to be part of the Impact Gold 18U expansion team. He is a retired veteran with 22 years of U.S. Navy service. During his military career, he was the head coach for the All-Navy Women’s Softball Team from 2000-2003. While there, 11 U.S. Navy women moved on to represent to U.S. Armed Forces Women’s Softball team to compete against the Top 20 national teams in the 19/Over Open Division for the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) National Tournament. Saldivar is a native of San Antonio, Texas, where he attended Oliver Wendell Holmes High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
