Keegan Ingelido

Assistant Coach

Ingelido became a member of the TCU staff in June 2007, after spending the previous two seasons as assistant coach at the University of New Orleans. "Keegan knows what she's doing," Sybesma said. "She's been there and done that in terms of a good swimmer. She is learning daily as a coach, but we are also learning a lot from her. She does a really good job in maintaining our equipment and handling our business on the road." Working primarily with the backstroke and distance groups, Ingelido has been crucial in the recent success of TCU. Her work helped lead Sabine Rasch to an MWC title in 2011 and to the NCAA Championships in 2012. In the past three seasons, the TCU women have broken 41 school records. Ingelido swam at the University of Georgia from 1998-2001, helping the Bulldogs to three national titles. Ingelido earned All-America status 14 times and claimed the individual NCAA title in the 200-back (1:53.22) in 1999. The four-time All-SEC First Team selection qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1996 and was a finalist in the 400 IM and 200 back events in 2000. At the NCAA Championships in 2000, she swam the butterfly leg of the world-record setting 400 medley relay with a time of 3:57.46. As an assistant coach at New Orleans from 2005-07, all swimmers under the tutelage of Ingelido achieved lifetime best times in every event during the 2006-07 season. Before her stint at New Orleans, Ingelido served as assistant coach with the Stingray Swimming USS Club in Marietta, Ga., where she coached junior national, national and Olympic Trials qualifiers. Ingelido earned a B.S. in sports communications from the University of Georgia in 2002. The former Keegan Walkey, Ingelido was married in the summer of 2011. Wayne Chester

Coach

Chester has coached three conference champions, two NCAA qualifiers, and was named the Mountain West Conference Diving Coach of the Year in 2006. The TCU diving squad made a strong impression in its first season in the Big 12 Conference. Ricky Bradley was one of the most consistent divers in the league, never falling far off his best, but still being able to make incremental improvements. He finished in the top-six on all of 1-meter, 3-meter and platform, the only Big 12 diver to do so. He also qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships. Curtis Muller also had a strong sophomore campaign under Chester's watch. He made a huge impression at the Big 12 Championships with his runner-up finish on platform, which included the highest score of the contest with his 72.50 on the final dive of the meet. Sean Evans and Joseph Stegeman also earned All-Big 12 honors on platform. Chester led TCU to another banner year on the boards in 2010-11 as Kyle Callens took home All-Mountain West honors on the 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard and platform. He mentored Callens to school record dives on the 1-meter (360.98) and 3-meter (380.15). In 2010, Chester led Callens to a third-place finish in the one-meter springboard. Callens posted a 342.75 during the event. In 2009, R.J Hesselberg and Callens took the gold and silver medals, resepectively, in the three-meter dive at the 2009 MWC Championships. Hesselberg graduated with the school record from the three-meter springboard at 380.10. Under Chester's direction, Kelly McCain qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2005 and 2006, while Hesselberg was an NCAA qualifier in 2007 and earned 2008 MWC Diver of the Year honors. Hesselberg won 12 events and set a new conference record with seven MWC Men's Diver of the Week selections, including a stretch of six consecutive weeks of winning the award. Chester claimed the 1978 NCAA Championship on the 1-meter board for the University of Alabama. While in Tuscaloosa, Chester earned All-America status three times, was a Southeastern Conference champion and earned SEC Diver of the Year honors in 1981. A native of Fort Worth, Chester attended Arlington Heights High School. He posted a perfect record in city and regional meets and closed a standout prep career with a Texas state championship in his senior year. Chester lives in Fort Worth and has two children: Courtney and Emily. Swimming & Diving | 10/19/2016 The TCU men's swimming and diving team fell to SMU in a dual meet on Wednesday night, 118-182.
