Under Garza's leadership, the Rams have established themselves as a consistent contender in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) and the NAIA landscape. Since joining the program in 2015, he has guided the team to multiple NAIA National Tournament Opening Round appearances and developed numerous professional prospects. The team excelled at home with a 23-6 record, earned a No. 4 seed in the conference tournament, and advanced before falling to top-seeded Oklahoma City. Six Rams received All-SAC honors, highlighting the squad's depth and talent as Garza continued building the program into a consistent NAIA contender during his fifth season as head coach. 2021: 27-16 overall (15-6 SAC) — Finished third in the SAC despite COVID-19 challenges; six All-Conference selections, including four first-team (Greyson Barrett, Kaden Brown, Jalen Evans, Nelson Vera); two SAC Gold Glove winners (Brown at SS, Brayden Bahnsen at CF); nine Academic All-Conference and three SAC Scholar-Athletes. 2020: 18-12 overall (5-3 SAC) — Season cut short by COVID-19 after strong starts, including wins over ranked opponents; four All-SAC honorees and notable individual performances (e.g., Gabriel Sequeira's NAIA-leading 82 strikeouts). 2019: 46-16 overall (20-7 SAC) — First full season; NAIA National Tournament Opening Round bid; third-most wins in program history; shattered single-season strikeouts record (521); second-team NAIA All-American Parker Robinson; five All-SAC and three NAIA Scholar-Athletes. 2018: 25-14 (13-8 SAC) as interim head coach for final 39 games — Led to 36-16 overall; historic offense (.345 AVG, 71 HR, 384 RBI); NAIA Player of the Year Kiki Menendez (nation-leading 26 HR, school records in multiple categories); five All-SAC. In his tenure as head coach through 2025, Garza has compiled a strong winning record, with highlights including conference titles, tournament appearances, and program records. He has coached multiple All-Americans (including Kiki Menendez as 2018 NAIA Player of the Year Parker Robinson and Grayson Barrett), dozens of All-Conference players, NAIA Scholar-Athletes, and seen 18 players advance to professional baseball. In 2025, select Rams players joined a historic European tour under Garza's leadership, aligning with the program's mission to provide global experiences. Garza had an extensive coaching career prior to Texas Wesleyan, serving as Assistant Head Baseball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for eight seasons at Northwood University (helping secure a No. 3 national ranking, Avista NAIA World Series appearance, and conference championships), and earlier at Dallas Baptist University and First Baptist Academy High School in Dallas. A native Texan from Texas City High School, Garza played catcher at Dallas Baptist University after stints in baseball and football at Tyler Junior College. Garza and his wife, Stephanie, and daughter Hattie reside in Cedar Hill.

Casey Moses

Assistant Coach

Casey Moses is in his first year (2026) as an assistant baseball coach for the Texas Wesleyan University Rams, returning to his alma mater where he was a standout player. As a former Rams shortstop, Moses earned two Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Gold Glove awards, was named to the All-SAC team twice, and contributed to the team's SAC Regular Season Championship during his playing career. After his playing days, Moses built a strong coaching resume focused on player development across junior college and NCAA Division II programs. He began as a volunteer coach at Chaffey College (2018-2019), helping the team to a 24-16 record and sending five players to Division II and three to Division I. He returned to Chaffey as pitching coach (2022-2023), guiding the Panthers to a 28-14 overall record and a dominant 21-3 conference mark, with standout Braden Hofmeyer earning Conference Player of the Year and All-American honors, plus six pitchers advancing to Division I and five to Division II. At Long Beach City College, Moses served as infield and hitting coach in 2021-2022 (post-COVID), leading the Vikings to a 29-14 finish with a .295 team batting average and Conference Player of the Year Matthew Pinal (a two-way talent), as four hitters advanced to Division I. He rejoined LBCC for 2023-2024 in the same role, achieving a 30-15 record, a .316 team average, and a school-record 102 stolen bases, with Conference Player of the Year Luke Davis (later drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies) and four more hitters moving to Division I. Most recently, Moses coached infielders and hitters at Biola University (2024-2025), where the Eagles made history by qualifying for the Division II playoffs for the first time, finishing 26-27 with a .314 team batting average and .402 on-base percentage, earning four All-Conference selections and two All-West Region honors. With his extensive experience in developing talent and achieving team success at multiple levels, combined with his deep roots in the Texas Wesleyan program, Moses is poised to make an immediate impact as he helps continue the Rams' tradition of excellence in NAIA baseball.
