Kyle Erickson

Head Coach

Kyle Erickson was named the new head women’s basketball coach on April 3, 2023. Upon his hire, Vice President of Athletics Reagan Rossi said, “We are thrilled to bring Kyle and his family into The College of Idaho community. We look forward to Kyle leading our women’s basketball team as his vision helps in developing success for our student-athletes both on and off the court.”   Erickson comes to College of Idaho after being instrumental in the turnaround as the top assistant coach at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon for the last four years. In his time with the Boxers, he helped lead Pacific to back-to-back appearances in the Northwest Conference Championship game and seven all-NWC recipients with three earning first team honors. In four seasons, Pacific finished in the top three in the conference on three occasions. Erickson was actively involved in the recruiting, academic excellence and culture creation of the program.   Prior to coaching at Pacific, the Broadview, Montana native was on the coaching staff at his alma mater, the University of Montana Western and the staff at Rocky Mountain College as well as time on the men’s side at Montana State University-Billings and Miles City Community College. Erickson and his wife, Ali are the proud parents of a son, Enzo.

Cassidy Johnson

Assistant Coach

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Johnson joined the Women's Basketball Coaching Staff in summer of 2024 Prior to C of I: Johnson played five years at NCAA Division 1 program University of the Pacific and California State University-Bakersfield. Personal: Originally from Lehi, Utah, Johnson earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Health & Exercise from the University of the Pacific. She then transferred to California State University, Bakersfield to continue her playing career and earned her Masters of Science in Administration.

Jackie van Vliet

Assistant Coach

Jackie van Vliet is in her first season as an assistant coach with the College of Idaho beach volleyball program. She is a 2019 graduate of The College of Idaho with a bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance. As a four-year standout on the volleyball team from 2015-2018, she played in 498 sets which is the second most in school history. In 134 matches - which is third all-time - she averaged 2.20 kills on her way to a .306 hitting percentage to go along with 1.12 blocks per set. For her career, her 557 blocks ranks second, the 1097 kills ranks seventh, the 2552 attempts is eighth and her .306 hitting percentage is ninth in program history. Furthermore, her 476 block assists is second and 81 blocks solos are the fourth most in career history. In 2018, her senior season, she was named a honorable mention NAIA All-American, first team all-Cascade Collegiate Conference and to the CCC All-Academic Team. The team reached the NAIA National Tournament in 2015, 2017 and 2018. In 2017, the team advanced to the national quarterfinals and in 2015 and in 2018, the Yotes advanced to the first round of bracket play.
