AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Smith started his career at the College of Idaho in 2004 as the head coach of the men's soccer team as well as the director of soccer. In 2012 he was the head coach of both the women's and men's soccer teams. Then in 2013, his focused transitioned entirely to the women's soccer team. He finished with the men's team holding a 82-64-14 record in charge of the men. Going into the 2024 season, he holds a 119-76-24 for the women's team. He is the winningest coach in both percent and number. CERTIFICATION: USSF Class "A" License. HONORS: As head coach of the Coyote men's program, Smith was named Cascade Conference Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the 2006, 2008, and 2010 seasons. He was named the Cascade Conference Coach of the Year following the 2020-21 spring women's season. He has coached 52 All-CCC performers; 35 NAIA Scholar-Athletes; and six NAIA All-Americans in his 18 years as Director of Soccer. POSTSEASON: Smith has guided his women's teams to national qualification in 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2020. In 2006, his men's squad advanced to the NAIA Region I tournament semifinals, before losing to eventual champion, Westminster, while in 2008, his men's team defeated Warner Pacific in the CCC semifinals, before dropping a 2-1 decision to Concordia in the title game. In 2010, his men's team lost a CCC semifinal to Warner Pacific in penalty kicks, while in 2014, his women's squad dropped a 2-0 decision to Warner Pacific in the CCC quarterfinals. In 2015, the Yotes equaled the school record with 14 wins and advanced to the CCC semifinals; in 2016 - C of I was eliminated in the CCC quarterfinals in a penalty kick shootout against Carroll; while in 2017, the Yotes defeated Rocky Mountain in the CCC quarterfinals in a penalty kick shootout, before losing to Eastern Oregon in the semifinals. In 2018, his squad defeated Oregon Tech in penalty kicks in the CCC quarterfinals, before dropping a decision to Northwest in the semifinals, while in 2019, a late goal eliminated C of I in the CCC quarterfinals in a 1-0 loss to Rocky Mountain. During the 2020-21 spring season, Smith led the Yotes to the Cascade Conference East Division title, earning the program a spot in the NAIA Women's Soccer Championship Opening Round for the first time in school history. In the 2023 season, his dominant team only lost once going into the opening round of the NAIA tournament. For the first time in program history, the women's team was selected to host a second round opponent after receiving a bye for the first round. The Yotes would go on to lose 1-0 to the traveling Keiser. CHAMPIONSHIPS: Smith led the Coyote men to a CCC co-championship in 2006, while in 2008, helped C of I to the only unbeaten, untied regular-season in CCC history in winning the South Division crown. In the spring of 2020-21, Smith led the women's soccer program to the CCC East Division crown. HIGHLIGHTS: In 2006, Smith helped the Coyote men win eight-straight games at the end of the season to claim a share of the CCC regular-season title; while in 2008, his Yotes won a school-record 13-straight games to win the South Division crown. In 2011, his Yotes got a last-second goal from keeper Aaron Reynolds to earn a draw vs. No. 12 Concordia; in 2014, his women's team picked up the biggest win in program history, defeating No. 1 ranked Concordia, 1-0; while in 2015, his squad placed second in the CCC regular-season standings, finishing 14-4 overall. Smith helped bring the 2020-21 spring women's soccer team to a CCC East Division title and a spot at nationals. BEFORE C OF I: Had a highly successful high school coaching career, coaching the Timberline High boys program from 1999-01 and the girls program in 2002 and 2003. Smith was named Idaho 5A Coach of the year in 2001 and Southern Idaho Conference Coach of the Year in 2003. He also was a teacher at Timberline high school. PERSONAL: A 1994 graduate of the College with a political science degree, Smith was a four-year letterwinner and helped C of I to a 35-21-1 record as a player for longtime coach, John Calpin, earning All-District honors. He has served as a coach with the Boise National Soccer Club; the Les Bois United Soccer Club; and with the Idaho Olympic Development Program - while currently serving as a team coach with Boise Timbers/Thorns FC and their entry in the ECNL.

Ryan Porter
Assistant Coach
At the College of Idaho: Porter joined the Coyote Women's program in February 2022. He serves as the goal keeper coach and recruiting coordinator. Prior to C of I: Ryan started coaching at Caldwell High School before moving to Seattle to attend college. Upon his return to Idaho, he coached local club soccer and served as the club president for 10 years. He currently holds a USSF "E" license and a United Soccer Coaches goalkeeping Level I Diploma. Personal: Ryan grew up in Caldwell and played soccer at CHS. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and a Master of Counseling Education degree from Boise State University. He currently works for the Idaho Supreme Court. He and his wife have been married for 25 years and raising two teenage boys who both enjoy playing soccer.

Gerry Scheetz
Assistant Coach
AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Scheetz joined the Yotes women soccer team in 2019 as an assistant coach. He has helped teams reach conference tournament each season and the conference champion 2023 team. His teams have made the NAIA Championships in spring 2021 (COVID adjusted season), 2021, 2022, 2022, and 2023. PRIOR TO C OF I: Scheetz was an assistant coach for the Carroll College women's soccer team for 12 seasons; at Carroll College, the team earned a record of 144-58-29, including eight conference championships and three national tournament bids; since 1995, he has also helped coach various boys and girls youth soccer teams. CREDENTIALS: USSF National 'D' License; United Soccer Coaches 'National' Diploma. PERSONAL: Scheetz is a software engineer for an affiliate marketing company. He met his wife, Stacy, while obtaining a computer science degree from Montana Tech. They have been married for 29 years.

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Nicoletti joined the Coyote women's soccer program in July 2021. She was named the program's first head JV coach in the spring 2023. PRIOR TO C OF I: Coached in Washington state for Snohomish United, Snohomish High School and Trinity Lutheran; since moving to Idaho, has coached Inferno '07 girls along with a year with a recreational boys soccer team. CERTIFICATION: USSF National D License PERSONAL: Played at UConn from 2000-01; transferred to Washington State for the 2002-03 seasons; played for the Seattle Sounders women's soccer program throughout those years; graduated with a degree in Kinesiology; married to husband Paul with daughters Cadence and Morgan, and son Sawyer.
