McKenna Hafner

Head Coach

The Master's Career In her debut season as head coach, Hafner led the Lady Mustangs to a 24-5 record and a GSAC Tournament Championship. TMU earned a home game in the NAIA opening rounds and advanced to the NAIA National Championships after defeating Texas A&M Texarkana by a score of 3-1. McKenna Hafner became The Master's women's volleyball head coach on December 19, 2024. McKenna joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in 2022. From 2022-2024, the Mustangs posted winning records, with back-to-back-to-back GSAC conference tournament appearances. In 2024, the program experienced its most success since 2018, earning the title of both regular season and conference tournament champions. To go along with the program's 21-8 record and a slew of All-GSAC honors, McKenna was honored as the GSAC Assistant Coach of the Year and the ACVA Southwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year. Other Coaching Experience: Away from TMU, McKenna plays a key role in coaching at Santa Clarita's premier youth volleyball club, Legacy Volleyball Club. Since joining the Legacy staff in 2022, Hafner has coached at the 18U, 17U, 16U, and 14U levels. In 2022, she helped lead Legacy's top 18U team to a national championship title at USAV Girls National Championship in Columbus, OH. The team was comprised of several future NCAA DI prospects, including athletes that have gone on to compete at Baylor, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Idaho State, and San Jose State. In 2024, she led both her 14U and 16U teams to gold medals in the same weekend at the JVA West Coast Cup in Long Beach, CA. Playing Career: McKenna competed at The Master's University from 2016-2019, her last three years as the program's starting libero. As a two-time captain and starting libero, she played a key role in the Mustangs' return to the final site of the NAIA National Championship in 2018 after earning both the GSAC Regular Season and Conference Tournament Championships. It was also a historic season with the team reaching its highest ranking in program history (No. 11). By the end of her TMU playing career, Hafner reached third in program history with career digs (1,590) and fifth for the single-season dig record (512). Personal: McKenna resides in Valencia, CA. She graduated from The Master's University in 2020 with a B.A. In English. Originally from Yucaipa, CA, she is a graduate of Yucaipa High School. She attends Redeemer Church in Santa Clarita. When she's not coaching, she enjoys being outside, rock climbing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
