Thomas College Women's Softball

Plourde was named Head Softball Coach in December of 2022. She now enters her fifth season at Thomas. Plourde was perviously an Assistant Coach at Husson University in the four years prior to joining Thomas, specializing in hitting and catching. While coaching at Husson, Plourde was a part of three North Atlantic Conference Championships along with three NCAA Appearances. She also served as the Director of Softball at Sluggers Training Facility in Brewer, Maine form 2017-2019.   Plourde has also been apart of the huge success out of the Old Town High School Softball program. Appointed Head Coach in 2012, Plourde immediately took her team to victory, winning both the Eastern Maine Class B and State Class B Championship Titles for the first time ever. The team then went on to win four Penobscot Valley Conference Championships (2013, 2014, 2015, and 2018) and two more State Class B Championships (2016 and 2017). Due to her hard work and dedication to the program, she was named Penobscot Valley Conference Coach of the Year five times (2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2018).   Plourde is a native of Howland, Maine and attended Penobscot Valley High School. Coach KP joined the Thomas College Softball staff during the 2022-2023 season.  Coach KP played 4 years of Varsity softball at Messalonskee High School, winning a state championship in 2015 and being named the 2016 Maine State Gatorade Player of the Year. After high school, Coach KP played collegiate softball at Bates College earning All-NESCAC Honors throughout her 4 years. Graduating in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, she went on to play at the University of Southern Maine while starting her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. There she was named to the Little East All-Conference team and helped to lead the Huskies to a Little East Conference Title and a NCAA Tournament appearance.  Coach KP currently works at China Middle School teaching 7th and 8th Grade math, coaching with a local travel softball team, and instructing individual pitching lessons around the state. 

Bailey Dunphy was named an Assistant Softball Coach prior to the 2026 season. Dunphy grew up in North Anson, Maine and is a graduate of Carrabec High School, where she was a three-sport varsity athlete in soccer, basketball, and softball. She continued her academic and athletic career at Thomas College, graduating in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a focus in public relations and marketing, and later earning her MBA in December of 2022 while completing her final softball season that spring. Following graduation, Dunphy joined her family’s business, T.T. Dunphy, Inc., and has remained actively involved in the company. She has also cultivated an extensive coaching background, beginning with 14U and 16U travel teams for the Maine Thunder Softball organization during the summers of 2021 and 2022—a program she once played for as a high school athlete. After college, she went on to coach Carrabec’s middle school softball team before being named the head varsity softball coach at Carrabec High School, a position she has held for the past two years. Dunphy additionally served as the head softball coach of Waterville AYCC’s New England Softball Camp, where she connected with Thomas College Head Softball Coach Jenn Plourde.
