Tiffin University Men's Golf

Roggow's tutelage the program qualified for the NAIA National Championship in 2007 and has appeared in the NCAA Super Regional Championships the past five years (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016).  The team-experienced top five finishes in the Conference Championships in 2003 (4th), 2004 (3rd), 2005 (runner-up), 2006 (3rd), 2007 (runner-up), 2011, (runner-up) and 2012 (third), The Dragons also won the Spring Great Lakes Regional Championship in 2012. In 2014, the Dragons came from behind to surpass Malone, to win the GLIAC Championship by 12 strokes in 2015, and repeated as GLIAC Champions in 2016. TUs magical run continued, as they finished 4 at the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional, qualifying for the NCAA National Championship for the first time in program history. Tiffin finished 12 at the National Championships. The team has won 20 Team Championships and has finished Runner-Up 21 times during Coach Roggow's coaching tenure.  The team boasts a .865 winning percentage under his leadership. Coach Roggow was named the American Mideast Conference Coach of the Year in 2006 and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2012, 2015, and 2016.  In the summer of 2013 he was selected by the GLIAC and the USA-Athletes International to coach a select team in St. Andrews, Scotland for international competition.  He was selected again in 2015 to lead a team of GLIAC and GLVC golfers in St. Andrews against two Scottish Clubs. Coach Roggow has instructed 8 All-American Athletes, and several All-Conference selections. The Men's golf program also boasts one of the best team grade point averages on campus and in the nation.  The past five years the men's golf team has more all-academic selections in the GLIAC Conference than any other golf program. In 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 the Team was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America and State Farm Insurance as an All-Academic American Team.  The 2015 Team was honored as the NCAA DII Academic National Champions. "Our success inside the classroom and on the golf course can be attributed to the quality and character of the men who are in our program. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to guide and mentor these student-athletes," stated Coach Roggow "We should have a solid core of players to lead us this year, but we will need at least one or two guys to really evolve and take the team to another level. We are young, but we do have a lot of talent. This season should be interesting,"  said Roggow. "Our biggest obstacle this season will be to stay out of our own way. The men are quite talented, but still unproven. It will require a lot of effort on our part to focus on the process of improving and not get caught up in results." The coaching philosophy of Coach Roggow evolves around the individual needs of each player. Much like the golf swing every player is different and needs to be taught as such. "Golf is a complicated game that requires patience, persistence and a commitment to improvement. The development of the player's abilities is a combination of instruction, willingness to change and a desire to learn, said Roggow. Coach Roggow serves as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Director of Club and Recreational Sports and is also an instructor in the School of Business, Sports Administration division. Coach Roggow graduated with a BBA in Sports Administration in 1996 and a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) in 1999 from Tiffin University.
