Abigail Jackson
Head Coach
Jackson was named the head coach of the Union College women's lacrosse program for the 2011 season. In her fifth season, she guided the 13-4 Dutchwomen to the Liberty League Championship and the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. It was Union's seventh NCAA appearance. She coached Emily McGrail, who was named to the IWLCA All-Region and ECAC All Star teams as well as joining two others on the Liberty League all star squad. Jackson led the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year, awarded after the tremendous 2015 season. She enters the 2016 season with a Union career record of 47-34. Her teams have recorded 23 wins over the past two seasons. Jackson is the eighth coach in Union College women's lacrosse history since the program's first season in 1975. In her first season with Roger Williams, in 2010, she brought the womens lacrosse team to its third consecutive TCCC Championship game, concluding the season with a 14-5 record and the second-highest season win total in school history. Prior to RWU, Jackson had been the head coach of the womens lacrosse team at Plymouth State since Fall of 2006, compiling a record of 21-25 in her three years as coach of the Panthers. In her first season, she led the team to a 14-5 record, capturing the 2007 ECAC New England Championship. She is coming off of a season where Plymouth State captured the third seed in the Little East Tournament, advancing to the semifinals. In addition to her duties as head coach of womens lacrosse, Jackson also served as an assistant coach of the womens basketball team during the 2006-07 season and event management supervisor during the 2006-07 school year. Jackson is 2003 graduate of Williams College, where she was a three-sport athlete, competing on the Womens Soccer, Womens Basketball, and Womens Lacrosse teams. In 2000, she was a member of the NCAA Womens Lacrosse Division III Championship Runner-Up team and a Womens Lacrosse NCAA Regional Finalist in 2003. Her Womens Soccer team reached the NCAA Division III Final Four in 1999. After graduation, she spent the 2003-04 academic year as an assistant at her alma mater, coaching both the Womens Soccer and Womens Lacrosse teams. From 2004-06, she served as graduate assistant at Trinity College for the Womens Soccer and Womens Basketball teams, specializing in opponent scouting, recruiting, and game day management for both teams. She completed her Masters Degree in Public Policy at Trinity in 2016. In June 2009, she served as the head coach for the Prague Cup Womens Lacrosse team, a squad consisting of players from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III that competed against European teams.
