Cody White
Head Coach
White has led the Bronchos to three consecutive 40-win seasons, with UCO having qualified for the NCAA Division II national tournament appearances each year in going 122-57. Cody came to UCO in 2012 as the programs first-ever full-time assistant coach and helped guide the Bronchos to the first womens national championship in any school history in 2013. He played a key role during a sensational season that saw UCO claim the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association crown in its first year in the league and then go a perfect 9-0 in NCAA post-season play to take the national title, clipping Kutztown 5-2 in a thrilling finals contest to end a 51-11 campaign. Cody and head coach Genny Stidham were selected the Division II National Coaching Staff of the Year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association after the season. White was named interim head coach on Aug. 9, 2013 after Stidham took over at Texas Womans and went on to lead the Bronchos to another outstanding season in 2014. UCO finished runner-up in the MIAA regular season standings and earned an at-large bid into the national tournament, going 1-2 in the Central Regional in finishing the season 41-17. The Bronchos came back with another banner campaign last spring as White led UCO to a second straight MIAA runner-up finish. The Bronchos made the programs fourth consecutive trip to the national tournament and ended with a 41-20 record. Central ended up as league runners-up for the third straight year in 2016 and ended with a 40-20 record in making it to the national tourney for the fifth time in a row. Cody came to UCO after serving as assistant baseball and softball coach at Edmond Memorial High School. He was on the baseball staff for four years, helping the Bulldogs reach the state tournament in 2010, and helped coach softball for three years. White guided the Edmond Stars American Legion team to the state tournament in his one year as head coach and he helped lead the Edmond Memorial American Legion team to a pair of state runner-up finishes during two years as an assistant. White played baseball at North Central Texas College for one year before spending his final three seasons at Southern Nazarene. He was a two-time Sooner Athletic Conference Gold Glove Catcher for the Crimson Storm in addition to earning All-SAC honors. Cody, who received his bachelors degree from SNU, is married to former UCO softball standout Hillary Brandt and they have two children (Lillie and Brooks). Sam Maples
Head Coach
Entering her first season, Sam Maples was named head softball coach in June 2025. Maples comes to UCO after a successful stint at Oklahoma Baptist, where she guided the team to the national tournament for the first time in its Division II history. Maples won 170 games in six seasons (a .594 win percentage), including the canceled 2020 season and shortened 2021 season. Maples led OBU from 2018 to 2024, when she stepped away from coaching to spend time with her family. Originally from Sarasota, Florida, Maples played collegiately at Florida Atlantic, where she wrapped up a four-year career in 2015. She earned All-Conference honors and still ranks in the top 10 for shutouts, appearances, and games started in FAU school history, received her bachelor's degree in health administration there in 2015. She led FAU in ERA in 2013 & 2014, compiling the team high for wins, appearances, shutouts, and saves in 2014. In 2015, Maples won an NCAA regional game against Florida A&M. She moved to Colorado to spend the next two seasons as a graduate assistant at Colorado Christian. She served as interim head coach at CCU in 2016 and remained there for the 2017 and 2018 seasons under the tutelage of Shanon Hays. Maples was named head softball coach at Oklahoma Baptist in May 2018, leading the team onto the field for the first time in 2019. She went 17-39 in her debut season, but spent the next five years above .500, going 14-10 in 2020 before the shutdown and 21-20 in the pandemic-altered 2021 season. Back to playing a full schedule in 2022, Maples led OBU to a 33-22 record. In 2023, Maples led the Bison to the best season in school history, winning a DII program record 44 games, winning the Great American Conference title, and making an appearance in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship for the first time in school history. Maples led OBU to a 41-14 record in 2024, with another GAC title and a second consecutive NCAA national tournament appearance. Sam is married (Taylor) and has two daughters (Wyatt and Elliott).

Jon Hunter
Associate Head Coach
Hunter has helped lead the Bronchos to an 122-57 record the past three years, with UCO having had won 40-plus games each season while making it to the NCAA Division II national tournament every year. Hunter was an assistant basketball coach for the Huskies from 1999-04, helped with baseball from 2004-13 and was a softball assistant from 2008-13. Hunter helped lead the ENHS baseball squad to the 2012 Class 6A state championship and he was the interim head coach in the fall of 2012 when the Huskies captured the Class 6A state title. A native of Clinton High School, Hunter played collegiately at St. Gregorys before graduating from UCO. He and his wife, Traci, have two daughters (Abby and Halle). In his fourth year as an assistant softball coach at Central Oklahoma is Jon Hunter, who came to the Bronchos in the fall of 2013 from Edmond North High School. Jessica Boone
Assistant Coach
Jessica Boone was named assistant softball coach in July 2025 and will enter her first season with the University of Central Oklahoma in Spring 2026. Originally from Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and a Berryhill High School graduate, Boone comes to UCO after spending the previous three seasons at Southwestern Oklahoma State. Boone is no stranger to the MIAA. The former NSU Riverhawk played all four years (2015-18) of college softball for Central's rival in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Boone spent her first years coaching at her alma mater, serving as a graduate assistant from 2018-21. She took a job as assistant softball coach at Oklahoma Baptist for the 2022 season, helping the Bison to a then DII school record 33 wins. Boone spent that season working under Sam Maples, who was named UCO head softball coach in June 2025. Boone was named head coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State in July 2022, and spent the next three seasons increasing win totals in each year. Boone led SWOSU to 22 wins last season, reaching the Great American Conference Championship for the first time in six years. Boone holds a pair of degrees from Northeastern State after obtaining her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2018 and master's degree in School Administration in 2021.

Hailey Neira
Assistant Coach
Hailey Neira joined the University of Central Oklahoma softball program in 2025 and serves as an assistant coach. Neira, originally from San Antonio, Texas, came to Central Oklahoma from Southwestern Oklahoma State, where she served as an assistant coach in her first year of coaching. Neira spent the previous three years playing in the MIAA for Washburn after transferring there following her freshman season at West Texas A&M. At Washburn, she made 72 starts in 104 career games during her three years there (2022-24). At West Texas, she started 54 of 55 games as a freshman in the 2021 season that ended with a national championship. Neira earned her bachelor's degree in sports management from Washburn and also earned a minor in business. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports management.
