Matt Brisotti
Head Coach
Matt Brisotti enters his third year as the Head Men's Tennis Coach and Assistant Women's Tennis Coach at the University of Chicago in the 2025-26 academic year. In 2024, Brisotti guided UChicago to its first-ever NCAA Team National Championship and a UAA Championship, earning UAA Coach of the Year honors. His players have also garnered major individual accolades, including UAA Player of the Year Emil Grantcharov, and a total of four All-America honors that season. In 2025, the Maroons continued their national prominence with a runner-up finish at the ITA Indoor Nationals, an NCAA quarterfinal appearance, and an impressive six All-America selections, including doubles teams Emil Grantcharov/Derek Hsieh and Pat Otero/Andrei Leonov, along with singles honorees Emil Grantcharov and Alexander Ekstrand. Before arriving in Hyde Park, Brisotti coached at Caltech in 2022–2023 where he helped elevate the program to unprecedented heights. Under his leadership, Caltech reached a program-best #11 national ranking, finished second in the SCIAC for the first time, and closed the season ranked #13 nationally. From 2018 to 2021, Brisotti revitalized the men’s tennis program at Hamilton College, turning around a team that had not won a conference match in five years. During his tenure, the Continentals produced the program's first-ever All-American and NCAA Singles Qualifier, while posting a .500 record in NESCAC play. Brisotti began his coaching career at his alma mater, Drew University from 2014 to 2017, where he rebuilt both the men’s and women’s programs, leading both to Conference Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors in 2017. Off the court, Brisotti’s programs have consistently excelled academically. Every team he has coached has earned ITA All-Academic Team honors, and numerous players have achieved Academic All-America recognition. Brisotti earned his undergraduate degree in sociology from Drew University in 2012 where he was a student-athlete. He later completed a Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine. Jamie Hampton
Assistant Coach
Jamie Hampton enters her second year as the Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at the University of Chicago in the 2025-26 academic year. Hampton came to Chicago after serving as an assistant coach at Yale during the 2024 season. Prior to Yale, Hampton coached at Harvard and was a volunteer assistant coach at Emory University. During her time at Emory, Hampton gained her degree in neuroscience and behavioral biology. Prior to enrolling in Emory, Hampton played professional tennis after graduating high school in 2009. Throughout her professional career, the Auburn, Ala., native reached a career high ranking of No. 24 in the world on the WTA Tour. Hampton competed in each grand slam reaching the round of 64 at Wimbledon, the round of 32 at the Australian Open and the US Open, and round of 16 at Roland Garros. In 2013 Hampton had a standout singles season, reaching the finals at the AEGON International in Eastbourne, UK, and the semifinals at the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, Calif., the Brussels Open in Brussels, Belgium and the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand. Overall, Hampton was a five-time winner on the ITF Circuit and a seven-time finalist in singles. Additionally, she was a five-time winner on the ITF Circuit and four-time finalist for doubles. In addition, Hampton represented the United States in the Federation Cup vs. Italy and qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
