Head Coach
Durante led the Gym Dogs to a fifth place finish nationally - their best finish since the 2009 national championship season. A total of 16 All-America honors were earned by seven different Georgia gymnasts in 2014, including three first team honors on the balance beam. Under Durante's direction, Lindsey Cheek was named the first SEC Event Specialist of the Year. The 2014 Georgia squad posted a 197.000 or higher in each home meet for just the second time in program history, and the Gymdogs posted a total of 14 wins against ranked opponents, navigating through what was rated as the nation's toughest schedule. In 2013, Durante guided the Gymdogs back to the NCAA Super Six for the first time since 2009, and Georgia also achieved its highest ranking in four years. Brittany Rogers claimed a share of the SEC bars and beam titles, and Shayla Worley also shared the beam title. UGA notched wins over Alabama and Utah for the first time since 2009. Georgia won the 2013 NCAA Corvallis Regional with the second-highest score of any team in the six regionals and entered the NCAA Championships as the No. 4 seed. The Gymdogs' RQS of 197.260 was its highest since 2008. Georgia also excelled in the classroom in Durante's first season in Athens as 12 Gym Dogs earned SEC Academic Honor Roll honors, and three postgraduate scholarships were awarded. Durante, who served as head coach at California-Berkeley for the 2012 season and was the 2007 National Assistant Coach of the Year, was named head gymnastics coach at the University of Georgia on May 23, 2012. With Durante at the helm, California-Berkeley experienced considerable improvement, as the Golden Bears posted an average score of nearly a point higher than the previous year. A total of 23 personal records were set by Cal gymnasts in 2012, and eight gymnasts earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors. She also led the Bears to their highest overall score in five years. Prior to her stint at California-Berkeley, Durante spent nine seasons at the University of Nebraska as the Cornhuskers' beam coach and choreographer. She joined the Nebraska staff as an assistant coach in 2003, then served as associate head coach from 2007-2011. Nebraska gymnasts earned a total of 23 All-America honors during Durante's time in Lincoln, and she helped guide the Cornhuskers to a fourth place finish at the 2011 NCAA Championships. Before joining the Nebraska staff, Durante was an assistant for five years at Washington, where she helped lead the Huskies to the 1999 NCAA West Regional title and a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships. She was named the West Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2002. Before joining the Washington program in 1998, Durante spent two years working as a coach with the Arizona Sunrays and Royal (Fla.) Gymnastics Club. A native of Tulsa, Okla., Durante was a two-time member of the U.S. Gymnastics Federation National team in 1988 and 1990. She qualified for the 1988 Olympic Trials and won top honors in the all-around in 1986 and 1987 at the South African Cup. She competed internationally in Germany, France, Bulgaria and South Africa, and was also a two-time member of the U.S. Gymnastics Federation National Team. In addition, Durante served as a USAG Elite Level Judge from 1996 to 2000. Durante graduated from Arizona State in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Wellness. She was an All-Pac-10 gymnast for the Sun Devils from 1992-95, and scored five perfect 10s. Hogue's direction, a pair of Georgia gymnasts earned All-America honors on the uneven bars in 2015. Brittany Rogers earned first team honors and placed second at the NCAA Championships, while Chelsea Davis was second team All-America. Rogers also achieved regular season All-America status on bars. In addition, two Gymdogs placed in the top-four on bars in Georgia's session at the 2015 SEC Championship. A Georgia gymnast took top honors on the uneven bars in seven meets, and UGA gymnasts had five scores of 9.95 or higher on bars in 2015. The Gymdogs averaged a higher score on bars than on any other event in 2015, and their season-high score on any of the four events came on bars (49.575). In 2014, Hogue coached Georgia's bars squad to a No. 1 national ranking for each of the last 10 weeks of the season, and he was named NACGC/W Southeast Region Co-Assistant Coach of the Year. Five UGA gymnasts were ranked in the top-25 nationally on bars in 2014, including three in the top-10. Georgia scored an SEC Championship record 49.7 on bars and a 49.6 in the NCAA Regional - UGA's highest mark in a regional since 1998. In 2013, Hogue helped direct Georgia's efforts on vault and bars, where the Gymdogs finished the season ranked eighth and third in the nation, respectively. Under Hogue's guidance, Georgia gymnasts won a total of 10 All-America honors on vault and bars in 2013. Three different Gymdogs - Brandie Jay, Lindsey Cheek and Chelsea Davis - earned first team honors on vault and competed in the NCAA Individual Event Finals, and four Georgia gymnasts earned All-America honors on bars. Chelsea Davis was a first team All-American on vault and bars, and she spent a majority of the 2013 season ranked No. 1 in the country on bars. Also in 2013, Brittany Rogers shared the SEC title on bars. Before joining the Georgia staff in the summer of 2012, Hogue served as an assistant coach at the University of Denver for two years. Hogue primarily coached the Pioneers' vault and bars squads, and was named the 2012 North Central Region Co-Assistant Coach of the Year. Under his direction, Denver gymnastics earned a total of eight WAC event specialist of the week honors on vault and bars in 2012. Hogue's vault squad tied the school record with a 49.425 against Air Force. Denver's Moriah Martin was named the North Central Region Gymnast of the Year, in large part due to her success on vault. Under Hogue's watch, she finished ranked in the top-10 nationally on the event. In Hogue's first season at Denver, the Pioneers knocked off Arkansas, Nebraska and Ohio State, and were ranked No. 2 in the North Central Region. A professional member of USA Gymnastics for 25 years, Hogue spent most of his career at Orlando Metro Gymnastics, where he helped develop optional gymnasts and coached at the U.S. Classics and Junior Olympic National Championships. Prior to his time at Denver, Hogue coached for three years at Broadway Gymnastics in Oviedo, Fla. Hogue graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in liberal studies with an emphasis in engineering and physics with a minor in mathematics, and earned his associate of arts degree from Valencia Community College in 1993. Philip Ogletree

Ogletree was named the 2014 NACGC/W Southeast Region Co-Assistant Coach of the Year. Under his direction, freshman Lauren Johnson won the SEC vault title with a 9.975 in just her second career vault. The Gymdogs also scored a 49.625 on vault vs. Denver in 2014, which tied for the highest vault score in the country throughout the regular season. In 2013, Ogletree coached bars and floor, where the Gymdogs finished the 2013 season ranked third and 10th in the nation, respectively. Seven All-America honors were earned by Georgia gymnasts on bars and floor in 2013. Chelsea Davis, who spent most of the season ranked No. 1 nationally on the uneven bars, earned first team All-America honors on bars, while Brittany Rogers, Shayla Worley and Christa Tanella received second team accolades. Rogers shared the SEC bars title.Under Ogletree's direction, Noel Couch was a second team All-American on floor in 2013. Georgia posted the highest team bars score in 12 meets in 2013. Before coming to Georgia in the summer of 2012, Ogletree served as an assistant coach at LSU for 12 seasons. Ogletree was a key part of LSU's success from 2001-2012, primarily coaching the Tigers on the uneven bars while also serving as the recruiting coordinator. During his tenure under D.D. Breaux at LSU, Ogletree guided the Tigers to 12 of the top-13 bars scores in school history, including a school record 49.650 in 2002. His bars squads ranked in the top-10 nationally each year from 2004-10, including a No. 3 ranking in 2005 and a No. 4 ranking in 2009. LSU gymnasts earned a total of 16 All-America honors on the uneven bars under Ogletree's watch, including a school-record three gymnasts in 2005 and 2010. In 2010, two LSU gymnasts finished in the top-five on bars at the NCAA Individual Event Finals, and the Tigers posted the second-highest bars total in the NCAA prelims. Ogletree, a member of the UGA men's gymnastics team from 1980-82, was named the NCAA Central Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2005 and helped lead the Tigers to the NCAA Super Six in 2008 and 2009. A native of Atlanta, Ogletree also previously coached at the Georgia Gymnastics Academy in Lawrenceville and the Atlanta School of Gymnastics in Tucker. He arrived at LSU in the fall of 2000 with 18 years of coaching experience, including 11 with Level 10 gymnasts in the state of Georgia. Ogletree graduated from Georgia State in 1992 with a degree in early childhood education.
