Mairin Dudek
Head Coach
Mairin Dudek enters her fifth season as the head coach of the University of Hartford softball team in 2026. Dudek currently holds a record of 79-75-2 in her fourth seasons with a winning percentage of .513%. In the 2025 season, Hartford went 21-18-1 with a Conference of New England (CNE) record of 8-9-1. The Hawks had a pair of CNE All-Conference selections, as well as National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region selections. Hartford also had five College Sports Communicators Academic All-District choices. Under Dudek in 2025 the Hawks broke numerous records including stolen bases (87), runs scored (222), runs batted in (192) and triples (20). In 2024 the Hawks under Dudek finished the year 25-9-1. This was first season since 1995 that Hartford won 25 games in a single season. The Hawks would get three NFCA All-Region selections and eight NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes. Before arriving at the University of Hartford, Dudek most recently spent time as an Assistant Coach with Amherst College from 2020-2021. Prior to her time at Amherst, she served as the second head softball coach for the American International Colleges 43-year-old softball program. In her time with AIC, she coached 38 NFCA Academic All-Americans, 11 NE10 All-Conference players, the 2018 NE10 Defensive Player of the Year Alexa DiLeo, and both 2013 and 2018 All-Conference selections. Before her tenure at AIC, Dudek was an assistant coach at UAlbany. During her tenure the Great Danes won the America East championship in 2007 and 2011. The 2007 championship team was the first America East softball program to advance to an NCAA Regional final. In 2011, she was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as the Northeast Regions Coaching Staff of the Year. Dudek began her coaching career as the head coach at Wheelock College in 2005, before being named Assistant Director of Athletics and head softball coach at Fisher College. Dudek was a four-year member and two-year captain of the Ithaca College softball team, where she helped lead the Bombers to four consecutive NCAA Division III Championship appearances from 1999-2002. Dudek recorded the game-winning hit for the 2002 national title and was named to both the 2001 and 2002 Northeast Regional All-Tournament teams. In 2022 Dudek along with the 2002 team was inducted into the Ithaca College Athletics Hall of Fame. Dudek was also named to the Windsor High School (CT) Athletics Hall of Fame in 2025. Mairin was a member of the soccer and softball teams for the Warriors.

Julie Bolduc
Assistant Coach
Julie Bolduc enters her third season with the University of Hartford softball program in 2025. She is responsible for the tutelage and development of the Hawks’ pitching staff. Bolduc served as assistant coach/pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Amherst College for six seasons, 2017 – 2022. In 2017, the program won their first ever DIII Regional and Super Regional titles as well as their first appearance in the DIII National Championship. Prior to Amherst College, Bolduc spent seven seasons working with Molloy College and made two appearances (2010, 2013) in the NCAA Division II National Championships. As an undergraduate at Adelphi University, 1983-1987, Bolduc led her team to two back-to-back College World Series appearances in her freshman and sophomore seasons. She was the first pitcher in NCAA history to pitch a Perfect Game in the College World Series against Utah State in 1984, in 1985 she led the nation in strikeouts (337), and that same year she earned the third-best ERA in the nation (0.24). Bolduc earned both her bachelors and master’s degree from Adelphi University. Bolduc is also a private pitching instructor and has developed countless young pitchers throughout the Northeast region. She is originally from Southington, CT and now resides in Granby, MA.
