Cyndi Pratt

Head Coach

Pratt became the University of Maine at Farmington head field hockey coach in 2004. Pratt was elevated to the position of head field hockey coach following seven years as an assistant, replacing longtime coach Beth Evans. Pratt has guided the Beavers to three North Atlantic Conference Tournament Championships and NCAA Division III Tournament berths, and UMF field hockey has finished with a .500-or-better record in each of her nine seasons at the helm. The team has also shined academically as the Beavers have received the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Award each of the last nine seasons. The 2006 North Atlantic Conference Co-Head Coach of the Year, Pratt has coached one NAC Player of the Year in Kaeleigh Barker (2008). Barker was a three-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region selection coached by Pratt - one of nine to have achieved NFHCA All-Region honors under Pratt's tutelage. In addition, UMaine-Farmington field hockey players have amassed 41 All-NAC awards over the last nine seasons under Cyndi Pratt. Pratt also serves as an assistant athletics director with numerous administrative and coordinator responsibilities. As the advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Pratt coordinates the student-athletes' involvement in community service projects as well as the NCAA Choices Grant, awarded for campus alcohol prevention and educational programming. Pratt was also named UMF's head softball coach prior to the 2009 season. Prior to becoming the assistant AD and head coach, Pratt was an elementary physical education teacher in Skowhegan and had also served as the department head in previous years. Her coaching experience also includes two years as assistant womens basketball coach at Farmington, a graduate assistant field hockey coach at UNH, and a variety of coaching positions with Skowhegan Area High School. Pratt received her bachelors (1989) and masters degrees from UNH. She currently resides in New Sharon with her husband, Scott, and their two sons. Updated 8/2/2013
