Mike Stawski
Head Coach
Favorite Verse: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6 Mike Stawski was named Head Baseball Coach for the Cru in June of 2019. He guided the Cru to a 25-19 record in 2022, advancing to the blue bracket championship in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament. Stawski earned his first UMHB win in his Cru debut as the program opened his inaugural season with a 5-1 start in 2020. UMHB was 7-8 overall in an abbreviated first season under Stawski's direction after the rest of the campaign was canceled in March. He followed that with a 22-17 mark in the 2021 season, guiding the Cru to its ninth appearance in the ASC Tournament after a 13-10 record in conference play. Stawski earned his 300th career win in a 12-2 victory on February 16, 2024. He guided the Cru to a 24-win season in 2024 as the Cru competed in the ASC Championship Tournament as the No. 3 seed. UMHB followed that with another 24-win season in 2025 as Stawski reached 100 wins at UMHB. The Cru collected 25 wins in 2026 en route to an ASC Semifinalist finish that season. Stawski joined UMHB after turning Concordia University Chicago into a national championship contender in four seasons as the Cougars' head coach. Stawski guided CUC to a 42-10 record in 2019 and the Cougars advanced to the NCAA Division III Super Regionals after spending eight weeks ranked #1 in the country in the American Baseball Coaches Association’s (ABCA) Top 25 Poll. CUC also won 24 consecutive games during the regular season. Stawski guided Concordia to back-to-back 40-win seasons and led the Cougars to a 150-51 record in his four seasons as head coach. CUC also made the first two NCAA Division III World Series appearances in program history under his direction in 2017 and 2018. The Cougars won a conference regular season title or advanced to an NCAA Regional in each of his four seasons as head coach. Stawski was a three-time Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year during his tenure at CUC and he was also a three-time ABCA/Diamond Midwest Regional Coach of the Year. Stawski spent two seasons as head assistant coach and pitching coach at CUC before taking over as head coach. His first collegiate head coaching job was at Spalding University, where he posted an 81-44 record in three seasons. The Golden Eagles were 32-11 in his final season as he won SLIAC Coach of the Year honors. Stawski started his coaching career with a three-year stint as head assistant coach and pitching coach at Webster University. Stawski is a 2006 graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Indiana with a degree in Business Administration. He was a four-year letter winner as a pitcher and was an All-Conference and Academic All-Conference selection in three of his four seasons. Stawski earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Webster University in 2011. Stawski and his wife, Melissa, have three children: Michael, Charlie and Danni. Jay Osborne
Head Coach
Favorite Verse: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6 Jay Osborne was named inaugural head coach for UMHB Flag Football on November 3, 2025. Osborne came to UMHB after a stint as the women’s flag football coach at Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri. Osborne also works as a staffing director for Sports International Football Camps where he helps hire coaches nationwide. Osborne spent ten years coaching at University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, working his way up from recruiting coordinator to head football coach. He served as head football coach for six seasons, helping the Spires to the program‘s first and only appearance in the NAIA Top 25 Poll and winning KCAC Coach of the Year. Osborne, a native of Conroe, also has Texas connections, coaching at Bryan High School for one season and McMurry University from 2007-2009. He also spent one season as offensive coordinator for the Bergamo Lions in Bergamo, Italy.

Cooper Hake
Assistant Coach
Cooper joined the UMHB baseball coaching staff in August 2023. Cooper was a baseball player at Webster University, where he graduated with a degree in general management, emphasizing in sport management and entertainment. Cooper also had collegiate stops at Indiana University South Bend and Kankakee Community College, where he helped his team to a national championship. Cooper previously served as a baseball assistant at University of Illinois Springfield. He earned his masters in Sports Administration from UMHB in June of 2025. Cooper is the son of Patrick Hake and Andi Manes.
