Lindsay Berman
Assistant Coach
Berman will begin her second season at UMass Boston in 2016-17. Last season, Berman who rejoined the Beacons program with the interim tag, led UMass Boston to the greatest season ever in the program's young history. With less than 20 rostered players, Berman's Beacons hoisted the program's first-ever New England Hockey Conference Tournament title, and made their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. A total of four players earned All-Conference honors, as the Beacons recorded the second-most wins in program history in 16. The 2015-16 squad won the program's first tournament semi-final game, as they knocked-off second-seed Castleton University in overtime. Her Beacons then shutout top-seed Norwich University, 2-0 in the championship game, in perhaps the biggest upset in the conference's history. A total of three players finished with 20 or more points in a season for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign, and saw a total of four players earn D3Hockey.com National Team of the Week recognition. A former assistant coach for the Beacons, Berman spent the 2014-15 campaign at Division I Brown University, where she served as the top assistant. A standout player at Northeastern University, Berman played an integral part in the Beacons success from 2011-14. During that span, the UMass Boston appeared in three ECAC East Tournament quarterfinal games, and one semi-final game in 2014. It was also during the 2013-14 campaign, that UMass hoisted the programs first Codfish Bowl Tournament championship. While at Brown, Berman helped guide Bears to a Mayors Cup victory over crosstown rival Providence College, and a to a 3-2 record against Hockey East opponents. During her first stint with the Beacons, Berman was responsible for implementing practice plans, as well as breaking down video, coordinating recruiting visits, and planning team travel. As a player, Berman played in 135 career games from 2006-10 at Northeastern. She was a team captain, and earned a spot on the 2009 Hockey East All-Start Team that played the US national team. Berman gained one of seven spots on Northeasterns All-Decade (2002-12) team, and also garnered an invitation to the USA Under-22 National Development Camp in 2008. A 2011 graduate of Northeastern, Berman went on to play for the Boston Blades in the Canadian Womens Hockey League from 2010-14 after her career as a Husky. Berman captained the team during the 2013-14 season, and won the leagues title, the Clarkson Cup, in 2012-13.
