University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth Men's Ice Hockey

Tavares begins his 18th season with the UMD Hockey program in 2015 as Associate Head Coach.  A special education administrator in the New Bedford Public Schools system, Tavares primary responsibility with the Corsairs is coaching the defensemen.  Previous to UMD, Tavares was the Head Hockey Coach at New Bedford High School and co-director of the Corsair Hockey Camps.

Rolli's teams have put together an unprecedented record of accomplishment in New England and NCAA collegiate ice hockey. Rolli's career record at UMass Dartmouth, 570-209-39 (.721), is one of the highest winning percentages of any college hockey coach in the country.  Entering the 2015-16 season, Rolli is ranked seventh among all active coaches with 570 career wins and third within the NCAA Division III behind Mike McShane at Norwich and Bill Beaney at Middlebury. Under Rolli's direction, the Corsairs have qualified for ECAC/MASCAC post season tournaments in 30 of his seasons, capturing the ECAC Championships nine times.  UMass Dartmouth teams led by Coach Rolli clinched ECAC titles in 1985, 1989, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1998,  2006,  2007, and 2008; in 2013 won the schools first MASCAC championship. The Corsairs have also appeared in four NCAA Division III tournaments (2006, 2007, 2008, and 2013). A six-time New England Hockey Writers' Coach of the Year (1989, 1993, 1996, 2005, 2006, and 2007) ,  four-time ECAC Coach  of the Year (1996, 2005, 2006, and 2007) , and MASCAC Coach of the Year (2011),  Rolli was one of 12 finalists for the 1999, 2005, 2006,  2007, and 2011  Eddie Jeremiah Award/NCAA Division III Coach of the Year (given annually to the College Division Coach of the Year by the American College Hockey Coaches Association) and was runner-up for the award in 2006.
