Tony Krueger

Assistant Coach

Krueger enters his first year as head coach in 2015 after having worked as assistant coach for the cross country and track programs for the past 3 years.  As an assistant coach Tony helped the womens cross country team attain its first ever UMAC championship crown in 2014 and subsequently a program-high 9th place finish at the highly competitive Central Region championships. Tony also worked closely with multiple All-American Linda Keller during the 2012 cross country season where she went on to finish 18th at the NCAA D-III national meet. As a graduate of UMM in 2008 Tony was a member of the track and field team for four years and was also a captain of the first-ever mens cross country team at UMM in 2007. An abiding love for the sport, pride in UMM as an institution and a strong desire to see UMM Cougars outpace their rivals fuels Tonys intense desire to help each athlete on his team become the best version of themselves.  Tony and his wife Miranda, also a UMM track and cross country alum, reside in Morris with their two children. They both continue to run and are often training for races. Tony has competed in 6 marathons, including Boston in 2010 and Chicago in 2012 and would like to run all the World Marathon Majors races in his lifetime!
