In her four previous seasons, she owns a coaching record of 61-50 (.550) and has guided the Tritons to four GLVC Tournaments, including two straight appearances in the quarterfinals. UMSL raced out to an 11-1 start, the programs best since 1988-89, and tallied a 10-game win streak, third longest in program history. The Tritons also started GLVC play with a 4-0 mark for the first-time ever and finished with a 13-5 GLVC mark, recording the most GLVC wins since the 1999-2000 team won 14. UMSL finished third in the West Division standings and were fourth overall. Other season highlights included receiving votes in the USA Today Sports Division II Top 25 poll. Vaughns team led the GLVC in scoring defense, three-point field goal percentage defense and rebounding defense. Nationally in NCAA DII, UMSL ranked ninth in rebounding margin, 17 th in scoring margin and 20 th in scoring defense. Vaughn coached senior Devonna Smith to her second straight First Team All-GLVC honor, while senior Hazaria Washington was a second team selection. Vaughn wasted no time turning around the program in her first season, guiding the Tritons to a 15-12 record, their first winning season since 2005-06. UMSL also posted a 10-8 GLVC mark. Among the victories, Vaughn led UMSL to its first-ever win over Drury and had two players named GLVC Player of the Week, including junior Hazaria Washington, who became the first player in program history to earn the award. Junior Devonna Smith was also honored as GLVC Player of the Week and was named to the GLVCs All-West Division First Team and All-Defensive Team. Vaughn, the 11 th head coach in program history, came to UMSL following three seasons at Lincoln (Mo.) University. During the 2011-12 campaign, Vaughn directed Lincoln to its most successful season in school history with a 15-13 record tying season records for most wins in a season and most MIAA conference wins. Additionally, the Blue Tigers made their first MIAA Tournament appearance in more than 20 years where they defeated nationally ranked Pittsburg State in the quarterfinals, notching the programs first-ever postseason victory. Before leading Lincoln in its return to the MIAA in 2010-11, Vaughn guided Lincoln to a 12-15 record in her first season, becoming the first, first-year head coach to lead a Blue Tiger team to 12 wins since Leo Lewis accomplished the feat in 1981-82. In seven seasons as a head coach, Vaughn is 90-102. Prior to her appointment at Lincoln, Vaughn served five seasons at Moberly Area Community College, including three seasons (2006-09) as the programs head coach, where her teams combined for a 56-37 record. Before Moberly Area Community College, Vaughn served as a graduate assistant at Central Missouri, her alma mater, while obtaining her Master of Science degree in Sports Administration. Vaughn played for the Jennies from 1998-2002 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
