6th season as UNE Head Coach (2026) [Year-by-Year] Kim Lorenc was named Head Softball Coach at UNE in the summer of 2020, after assisting the program for two. In July 2025, Lorenc was elevated to a full-time position -- the first UNE softball coach of such status. During a limited 2021 campaign under her direction (6-7 overall), the Nor'easters qualified for the league tournament, a temporary-format best-of-3 semifinal series. Back to a full schedule in 2022, UNE earned the third seed through the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) regular season and reached the semifinal of the double elimination tournament. She was the top assistant for UNE in 2019, as the squad improved by 6.5 games from the previous season. The Nor'easters went 26-16 overall, 12-4 in CCC action, hosted early rounds in the double elimination postseason tournament, and dealt top seed Endicott its only CCC setback of the year on the way to the finals. Lorenc (formerly Jordan) was a three-time all-conference performer and four-year starter at third base for Saint Joseph's College of Maine [NCAA III]. Over her career (2012-15) and 165 games, she hit at a .304 clip with 123 runs scored and 61 runs batted in. More than 1/3 of her 150 hits were for extra bases, and she picked up 29 steals. Lorenc graduated in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in sports management. The Bangor, Maine native and her husband, Alex, have a young son, Carter, and younger daughter, Peyton. Alex was an assistant coach to the team from 2021-25. Softball Home (updated July 2025)
