Casey Carroll

Head Coach

Carroll, a 1994 graduate of UNH, returns for his 17th season guiding the UNH Womens Track and Field Program. The last several years of the program have proven to be tremendously successful. The 2011 outdoor season was historic with the Lady Wildcats winning the New England Outdoor Collegiate Track and Field Championship. In the last seven years of that championship, the program also achieved four second place finishes. Carroll was named New England Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year in 2008.  Also in the last seven years, the Lady Wildcats have finished in the top three of the America East Championship five times with three second and two third place showings.   UNH has also had a presence on the NCAA regional and national scene.  Over the last seven years, the team has sent numerous track and field athletes to compete at the NCAA National Championships and the USATF Junior National Championships in the distance, hurdles, jumps and throws events. In the last 15 years of the mens and womens track and field and cross country seasons, he has been on the America East Coaching Staff of the Year 13 times. Since his arrival, the team has set new school records in 35 different indoor and outdoor events. Carroll is a USATF Level II certified coach in all track and field disciplines.  While a student at UNH, Carroll spent four years as a member of the track & field and cross country programs. A distance runner, Carroll was team captain for two years.  His senior year, Carroll was a top-10 finisher at the North Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championship and All-Conference in the 5000 meters at the outdoor Track and Field Championship. In 1998, Carroll received his Masters of Science degree in Psychology of Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Oregon. Carroll still is a competitive runner on the roads and was the winner of the Maine Marathon in 2003, the Hampton Rockfest Marathon in 2010 and two back-to-back New Hampshire Marathons in 2013 and 2014.    Casey Carroll Head Coach Casey Carroll, a 1994 graduate of UNH, returns for his 17th season guiding the UNH Womens Track and Field Program. Robert Hoppler

Assistant Coach

Hoppler, a 1989 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, is the head women's cross country coach and assistant coach with the track and field programs. He is currently in his 17th year with the cross country and distance men at UNH, and in his 16th year as the head women's cross country coach. While at UNH, Hoppler has helped guide the men and women to 14 conference championships (seven cross country, four outdoor, three indoor). The women have three top-10 NCAA Regional finishes to go along with three ECAC University Championships since 2002. On the track, Hoppler has coached multiple school record holders, conference and New England Champions, as well as over 30 IC4A/ECAC honorees. In 2008, Hoppler coached Cathy Parker to an All-America finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. In addition, Hoppler coached Joanne Dow to the 2008 United States Olympic Track Team in the 20K race walk. Coach Hoppler has also coached multiple provisional NCAA track qualifiers, as well as four cross country Academic All-Americans and four America East Scholar Athletes in the past five years. Under Coach Hoppler, the Wildcat women have been named as an All-Academic Team over the past four seasons and acheived a 3.40 team GPA in the fall of 2009.

Thaddeus Kusiak

Assistant Coach

Kusiak is in his second year as an assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field teams. A 2013 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Kusiak competed in throwing events for the Rams and was selected to the 2013 National Collegiate Division I All-Academic Men's Track and Field Team. He graduated from URI with a degree in Arts in psychology. Prior to enrolling at Rhode Island, Kusiak attended Springfield College for one year where he played baseball. Kusiak most recently received his level I track & field certification. Kusiak graduated from Mt. Mansfield Union High School in Vermont in 2008. During his time there, he played football, baseball and competed in track and field. As a senior, he captained the baseball team and was selected to the First Team All-Metro Baseball Team as a pitcher and was named the Vermont Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Athlete of the Month. Kusiak is a native of Jericho, Vt. Thaddeus Kusiak  is in his second year as an assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field teams.
