Mark Powell

Head Coach

Mark Powell enters his first year as the head football coach at the University of New Haven in 2025. Powell's track record of defensive success will continue at New Haven, where he will oversee the team's defensive unit. A New Haven product, Powell gained an up-close view of the world of coaching football from a young age as his grandfather coached at Yale University for 32 years.  Powell's expertise helped Mississippi State earn the top defensive unit in the country in 2018. The Bulldogs reached the Outback Bowl, and under Powell's guidance, the Bulldogs defensive unit was the only one in the country to finish in the top 10 of all four major defensive categories, ranking first in total defense (263.1 yards per game), second in scoring defense (13.2 points per game), second in rushing defense (95.0 yards per game) and seventh in pass defense (168.0 yards per game). Powell coached All-SEC performer Jonathan Abram.  Prior to joining the Chargers, he spent time at Fordham University, where he helped the school reach its first nine-win season and FCS playoff appearance since 2015. Among teams in the Patriot League, Fordham's defense ranked first in sacks and third down defense. It also ranked second in tackles for loss and in the top 25 in the country in both sacks and interceptions.  From 2019-2021, Powell spent time at Austin Peay State University where he coached the linebackers in addition to being the defensive and special teams coordinator. The Governors won the OVC in 2019 and ranked first in the conference in yardage defense rushing defense, pass defense, and scoring defense.  Powell also spent time at Christopher Newport University, where he coached the defensive line and outside linebackers along with being the special teams coordinator, Marshall University, where he was the defensive graduate assistant, Villanova University, where he coached tight ends, Yale University as a defensive assistant, and his alma mater, Lafayette College, where he was a defensive assistant. Coach Powell graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, where he played linebacker at for three years, with a bachelor's degree in history in 2014. He earned his master's in education from Mississippi State University in May 2021. Mark and his wife Stephanie have two sons, Hunter and Mason.

Nick Remo

Nick Remo enters his first year with New Haven Football following stops at the College of William and Mary, the University of Central Florida, and St. Cloud High School. At New Haven, Remo will work with quarterbacks as well as other skill position groups.  At William and Mary, Remo spent a year as an offensive quality control coach, working with wide receivers. His experiences included Creation of pass drawings/playbook installation, completion of film breakdown, development of scouting report, execution of pre/post-practice/game duties (wristbands, tags, scout cards, film pushing), fulfillment of meeting duties (prep cutups, reports, and videos plus present material), tracking of stats (camp), logging of NFL scouts, execution of practice duties (scout team, coaching WR group, signaling, marking, ST), fulfillment of game duties (signaling and communication to TE group), and assistance with miscellaneous duties (summer camps, recruiting, other). Before William and Mary, Remo got experience at St. Cloud as the linebackers coach. While there, he completed film breakdown, drew scout cards, constructed scouting reports, assessed film (grading, reports, annotation) and input statistics, helped create and install playbook, game planned with the defensive staff, carried out practice duties (coached LB’s, indy drills, scout team, and overall defense), and completed game duties (coached LB’s, booth insight, defensive adjustments). Remo got his start at Central Florida as an ambassador recruiting intern. He also graduated from UCF with a bachelor of science in kinesiology.

Adrian Brunori

Entering his first season as the offensive line coach at the University of New Haven in 2024, Adrian Brunori takes over a unit that has been among the best in the nation in Division II during the tenure of head coach Chris Pincince. Brunori comes to West Haven following a two-year stint as the offensive line coach at Long Island University and an one-year stint as an offensive line graduate assistant with the Syracuse Orange. While with the Sharks, Brunori was responsible for game plans for both the run game and pass protection, while also serving as the recruiting coordinator for the Eastern Pennsylvania, Central New Jersy and Long Island recruiting zones. Individually, Brunori tutored a pair of players to Northeast Conference honors including Tedi Kushi who was named the 2022 NEC Offensive Lineman of the Year along with All-Conference Frist Team distinction. Additionally, Jake Timm scored NEC All-Conference Second Team accolades following the 2023 season. Prior to Syracuse, he spent six seasons as an analyst and graduate assistant with Coastal Carolina. While with the Chanticleers, the football program continued an upward trajectory, culminating in a 10-1 season that saw the program reach a program-best No. 14 ranking in the final Associated Press poll. A native of Clarks Summit, Pa., Brunori played two seasons as the center for the UAlbany Great Danes. In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from UAlbany ’15, Brunori holds grade degrees in instructional technology from Costal Carolina ’19 and instructional design, development and education from Syracuse ’21.

Nick Amendola

Nick Amendola enters his fourth year with New Haven Football and second as the Director of Football Operations in 2025. At New Haven, Amendola is responsible for managing the day-to-day logistics and administrative needs of the football team throughout the year. Amendola spent four years as a student assistant at Central Connecticut State before arriving at New Haven. Amendola holds a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Central Connecticut.

Brian Scott

Brian Scott was named Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach for New Haven Football in March 2026, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a track record of fostering high-powered offenses. Scott transitions to New Haven following time at Tennessee Tech as the Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach. Known for orchestrating a prolific offense, Scott's leadership at New Hampshire saw the Wildcats rank fourth nationally in passing and tenth in total offense. The 2023 season was marked by standout performances from key players under his guidance, including quarterback Max Brosmer and running back Dylan Laube, both finalists for the Walter Payton Award. Scott's offensive strategies have consistently yielded impressive results across various programs. At Old Dominion, he developed the skills of notable players such as NFL quarterback Taylor Heinicke and receiver Travis Fulgham. His career highlights include being named FootballScoop.com Coordinator of the Year twice and a finalist for the Broyles Award in 2016. With prior coaching roles at institutions such as Towson, UT Martin, and Maine, Scott brings extensive experience to New Haven, where he aims to implement his successful offensive system.
