Chad Pearson
Head Coach
Pearson helped the Spartans host the 2014 Southern Conference Championships in cross country for the first time in program history. UNCG finished fifth on the women's side and seventh overall on the men's side. In 2013-14, Pearson helped the Spartans win the Southern Conference cross country individual title with Paul Chelimo claiming his third straight victory. The Spartans as a team placed fourth in the SoCon Championships while both Chelimo and Paul Katam advanced to the NCAA Championships in cross country after strong showings at the NCAA Regionals. On the womens side, the team placed third at the league championship race with three top-10 finishes in Shaina Sumney, Chelsea Sumney and Lydia Saina. On the track, Shaina Sumney won her first ever SoCon Championships, claiming the indoor title in the 5,000-meter race with a championship-record time. Additionally, both Sumneys placed second in the SoCon outdoor championships this season. Pearson helped the Spartans record a strong showing during his time as an assistant coach, helping UNCG post three Southern Conference individual champions and two All-America honorees. He helped Chelimo win the SoCon Cross Country Championships and a National Runner-Up finish in outdoor track, while Katam also claimed a National Runner-Up finish in outdoor track in the 10,000-meter distance. Pearson joined the Spartans after spending time as a volunteer assistant coach at Charlotte (2012) and North Carolina State (2010-11). He was also the graduate assistant coach at NC State from 2004-2006, working with both the cross country and track and field programs. Pearson was a standout at NC State where he was a three-time NCAA All-America honoree in cross country and track and field. He helped the Wolfpack win back-to-back ACC cross country team championships as well as earning Academic All-America honors during his career. Pearson still holds the school record in the outdoor track 10,000-meter distance when he posted a time of 28:37.95 and helped the Wolfpack finish 10 place in the NCAA Cross Country Championships his senior year. Pearson was a United States Olympic Trials track and field qualifier and was the United States 10,000-meter Road National Champion. Additionally, he was a member of the United States Junior National Cross Country Team.

Will Feldman
Assistant Coach
Feldman brings over seven years of coaching experience to UNCG, including the past two seasons at Duke. Last year, Feldman helped the Duke mens distance-medley relay team earn All-American honors while that team also earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference accolades. Additionally, he guided five members to All-ACC honors in 2014-15, including Shaun Thompson who qualified for the NCAA National Championships in the 5,000-meter distance. In his first season with the program, Feldman played a key role in developing freshman Haley Meier who would go on to win the ACC Outdoor 1500m title. He also worked closely with standout Juliet Bottorff who won three ACC titles (Cross Country, Indoor 5K, and Outdoor 10K). Bottorff also earned three All-American honors with Feldmans assistance. In total during his first year at Duke, he helped the program produce four All-Americans, five ACC Champions, and an additional five All-ACC performers. Prior to his arrival at Duke, Feldman spent two seasons at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). During the 2012 cross country season, both the men and women won the NEWMAC team titles, and the women went on to finish sixth at the NCAA Championships. On the track, Feldman worked with the hurdlers, middle distance, and distance athletes. In 2012 and 2013, both the MIT men and women captured back-to-back NEWMAC Outdoor team titles. In total Feldman assisted six All-Americans, 19 NCAA Qualifiers, and 15 Conference Champions. From 2008 to 2011, Feldman served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Emmanuel College (Boston, Mass.). Feldman was instrumental in the growth and development of the program. As recruiting coordinator, Feldman implemented a national recruiting effort, which doubled the size of the program and culminated in the successful recruitment of the programs first All-American. Feldman was a four-year letterwinner while competing at Suffolk University in Boston. He was also a three-year team captain, three-time team MVP and was named Suffolk Universitys Male Athlete of the Year in both 2006 and 2007. Additionally, Feldman has earned USATF Level II certification in Endurance events (2010) and Sprints, Hurdles, and Relays (2014). Feldman currently resides in Raleigh, NC with his wife Kyle Feldman.
