Schick qualified five student-athletes to the NCAA West Regional, the most the program has ever sent since joining the Division I ranks. Schick also had two of her athletes named Big Sky Scholars in '14-15 for their dedication on the track and in the classroom.  Since becoming the head coach in 2011, the mens and womens cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field program have broken 30 school records, added 155 new Top 10 performances, as well as qualified athletes to the NCAA Championship the last two seasons, including the first ever UNC Mens DI NCAA qualifier. UNCs women earned their best finish since entering the Big Sky at the 2014 Outdoor Championships, finishing sixth as a team and capturing two BSC Championship individual titles and multiple All-Conference performances. The forecast for the 2013-2014 year began looking brighter during the cross country season when UNCs women received their first ever All-Conference runner, that carried over to the indoor season which saw several All-Conference performances by the bears. Off the track, both the mens and womens track and field teams post over a 3.0 GPA. Prior to UNC, Schick had spent three years at Missouri Baptist, where she oversaw the development of 10 student-athletes to All-America status, with three each in cross country and indoor track & field and four in outdoor track & field. Schick also coached 11 individual American Mid-West Conference champions and eight academic All-Americans. Prior to Missouri Baptist, Schick spent three years as an assistant coach at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La., while there she worked primarily with the sprinters, hurdlers and relay teams, getting 15 NCAA Mideast Regional qualifiers and three Southland Conference individual champions. Schick started her coaching career at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich., coaching sprints and relays. Schick graduated from Western State with a bachelor's degree in clinical psychology and went on to earn her master's degree in sports administration from Northwestern State. As a student-athlete with the Mountaineers, Schick qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships and was a member of the school's record-holding teams in both the indoor and outdoor 1,600-meter relays. Matt Robbins

Assistant Coach

Robbins enters his second year as full time assistant coach for the UNC Track and Field Program and will handle the long distance runners in 2016. Last season Robbins was charged with the sprinters. Robbins is not new to the University of Northern Colorado Athletic Department. He worked in the operations department for his first four years with the University and also ran track and field for UNC in the early 2000's. Robbins is a native of Loveland, Colorado.
