Mike Drahos

Head Coach

Drahos, who also serves as the Pitt-Johnstown head women's basketball coach, took over the men's golf program prior to the 2014-15 season. 2013-14 marked Mike Drahos first season at the helm of the Lady Cat program.  His Pitt-Johnstown squad finished with a 10-17 overall record and earned a spot in the PSAC Tournament with a 7-9 mark in conference-play.  After two seasons, Drahos is 20-33 overall and 14-24 against conference opponents. Prior to coming to Pitt-Johnstown, Drahos spent five seasons as an assistant coach at West Liberty (WV) University. Drahos, a native of Wheeling, WV, joined Head Coach Lynn Ulloms Lady Hilltopper staff as the head assistant coach prior to the 2008-09 campaign. Drahos helped guide the Hilltoppers to a 107-47 overall record and two NCAA national tournament berths.  He was also an integral part of coaching and recruiting 8 all-conference honorees, two conference Player of the Year award winners, a conference Freshman of the Year, an NCAA Woman of the year runner up, a Region Player of the Year winner, and a First-Team All-American.   His duties at West Liberty included recruiting coordinator, opponent scouting, conducting individual workouts, on-court instruction, weight training, digital editing, and academic counseling. Prior to his stint at West Liberty University, Drahos began his coaching career at his Alma Mater, Bethany College (WV), as Head Coach Aaron Huffmans top assistant for the mens basketball program.  During Drahos two years as a Bison assistant, the Bethany men won 36 games, a Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) title, and advanced to the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament for the third time in four seasons. A two-time PAC Player of the Year and three-time First Team all-conference selection at Bethany, Drahos was named to six All-Region teams over the course of his career and was a two-time NCAA Division III Honorable Mention All-American.  Drahos 1,681 points and 877 rebounds still rank him among the top-five scorers and rebounders in school history.  In his four seasons as a Bison, he helped lead Bethany to a 76-33 (.697) overall record, that included a pair of PAC titles and two NCAA Division III Tournament berths. An outstanding student, Drahos was a Second-Team Academic All-American as a senior and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. He holds a masters degree in Legal Studies from West Virginia University. Drahos, his wife Courtney, their son Miles, and daughter Caroline reside in the Johnstown area.

Cody Trabert

Head Coach

The 2025-26 season will mark the sixth season for Cody Trabert as Head Coach for the men’s golf team at Pitt Johnstown after previously serving as a volunteer under Head Coach Mike Drahos the previous two years.  In October 2021, Trabert and Coach Mike Drahos guided the Mountain Cats to a fourth-place finish at the PSAC Championships, Pitt-Johnstown's best finish since joining the conference in 2013-14.  Justin Scally tied for 10th at the PSAC Championships and was selected the PSAC Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All-PSAC. In the spring of 2022, Pitt-Johnstown earned its first ever berth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament where the Mountain Cats came away with a sixth-place finish in the 20-team field.  Two years later in the 2023-2024 season, the Mountain Cats earned their second NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament berth and came away with a 13th-place finish. During the fall campaign of the 2024-2025 season, the Mountain Cats set numerous records and had the best statistical semester to date. The team finished 2nd place at the PSAC Championships which is the best finish since joining the conference during the 2013-2014 season. The team also ended the fall semester with new highs based on Scoreboard Rankings finishing as the #3 ranked team in the Atlantic Region and also #73 nationally, before the team made their third appearance in the NCAA Atlantic/East Region Tournament and placed sixth. Pitt-Johnstown has earned three berths in the Atlantic/East Regional Tournament with the first coming in 2022, and back-to-back appearances in 2024 and 2025.   In 2016, Trabert graduated from Pitt-Johnstown’s high-esteemed Engineering department with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology.  He was also a member and main contributor on the golf team throughout the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons. He currently works as an Electrical Engineer for FirstEnergy (Penelec) in Johnstown.   Trabert, his wife Caitlin, daughter Parker and son Cooper reside in the Ebensburg area.
