Adam Bray

Bray entered his second season as the Assistant Coach for the Pitt men's and women's track and field and cross country teams, primarily working with the mid to long distance runners. Most recently, Bray helped guide the women's cross country team to a first place finish at the 2013 ECAC Women's University Division Cross Country Championship.led the Panthers in the 5K course with a time of 18:20.8 and individually placed third overall out of 162 competitors. Bray helped the cross country men's and women's teams place third at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invitational. Cullen Davis led the men and Dee Dee Adams was the top finisher on the women's side for the Panthers. Under Bray's tutelage, sophomore Rachel Brown claimed her first individual victory at the St. Vincent Invitational this season, while the women's cross country team placed second in the team standings. The men's cross country team highlighted the season with a fifth place finish at Pre-Nationals and Davis led the squad in fourth individually. Prior to joining the Pitt staff, Bray spent the 2012 cross country season as an assistant coach at Temple University. While at Temple, Bray coached the Mid-Atlantic Region individual champion and the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Athlete of the Year, Travis Mahoney. Mahoney was also named the A-10 Conference Champion and was the first in school history to win all three honors, in addition to placing 37 at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. He also guided the men's team to its best conference finish in program history and had two student-athletes earn All-Conference. Bray spent 2009-12 as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Illinois and was a key contributor to many mid-distance athletes achieving personal records. Bray was a part of the Fighting Illini team that finished 12th at the NCAA Outdoor National Championship Meet. During the spring of 2012, Bray led the women's team as they tied for 2 place at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Bray also coached several conference scorers, West preliminary qualifiers in track and field and All-Region performers in cross country while at Illinois. In 2010, Bray helped the Illini place fifth at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship meet, and also assisted in coaching three All-Region performers in Cross Country. Before his time at Illinois, Bray was a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Maryland from 2007-09. Bray was responsible for coaching the female mid-distance and distance athletes and helped his women achieve All-Conference and All-Region honors. Bray earned an undergraduate degree from Akron in 2005 in exercise science/sports management, and was a four-year letter winner and a team captain for the Zips cross country and track & field teams. He earned his sports science and coaching master's degree in 2006 from Akron.

Darryl Weston

Weston enters his fourth season as a member of Pitt's track and field staff. Weston started in November 2010 as the Coordinator of Track and Field Operations. His duties include travel, organizing official visits, meet itinerary, compliance and handling the budget. Weston came to Pitt from the University of Akron where he was the Director of Football Operations for three seasons, 2007-09. Prior to his tenure at Akron, Weston was the graduate assistant for football operations at Marshall. A member of Pitt's football team from 2000-02, Weston started his career at a tight end before moving to the offensive line. Weston suffered a career-ending injury in 2002, but remained involved with the program by working under the current Director of Football Operations, Chris LaSala. "It's very exciting to be at my alma mater," Weston said. "As a former University of Pittsburgh student athlete, I have a vested interest in knowing that every student-athlete has the ultimate collegiate experience." A 2004 graduate of Pitt, Weston earned his bachelors' degree in communications and rhetoric. He later finished his masters in sport administration at Marshall in 2007.
