Coaching Staff (6)
Jack Stewart
Head Coach
Stewart became the Head Womens Golf Coach at the University of Redlands to fill the void left by Art Salvesen, who stepped down in order to fully enjoy retirement. Stewart served as the Associate Head Womens Golf Coach during the 2014-15 season and took on most of the on-course coaching responsibilities for the Maroon and Gray. He and Salvesen joined forces to create a quality combination that helped propel the Bulldogs to their first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) title and inaugural NCAA Championship appearance. Stewart looks to build upon the program's success while relying on his outstanding experience as a high school coach that spans more than two decades. His numerous accolades between the boys and girls teams at Palm Desert High School include 18 league championships, seven CIF titles, and four Southern California championships. In addition to coaching, Stewart owns a private business in the desert. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Union College (KY), where he competed in golf and cross country.

Tom Sponheim
Assistant Coach
Sponheim rejoined the University of Redlands as an assistant mens golf coach and recruiting coordinator for both golf programs in August of 2015. In addition to his athletic duties, Sponheim currently serves as the Assistant Director of Recreation at Redlands. Previously, he gained administrative experience as a Program Director for i9 Sports in Kansas for two years. No stranger to the Maroon and Gray, Sponheim earned his bachelors degree in Psychology in 2011 as a four-year student-athlete with the Bulldog mens golf program. During his tenure, he was a four-time Redlands Scholar-Athlete and a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar in 2010. His junior season was the most impressive, as he helped the Bulldogs to a second-place finish in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) standings. Furthermore, Sponheim averaged a round of 77 while being the 14th-ranked player in the conference. Additionally, Sponheim earned the Town & Gown Scholarship in 2010, and became a Madison Whos Who recipient and member of Phi Beta Kappa in 2011. He later went on to complete his Master of Arts in Management at the Redlands School of Business while serving as the graduate assistant for Intramural Sports and Wellness Programming. Sponheim has a sincere passion for athletics and recreation, and what they can offer student-athletes or young people in general. This Redlands native hopes to become an athletic director at either the high school or collegiate level. In his spare time, Sponheim enjoys various recreational sports, including basketball, tennis, racquetball, and table tennis. He also frequents Currier Gym during mens basketball games in order to cheer on his younger brother, Joey.
