Adam Decker
Head Coach
Decker has guided the Spiders to one team NCAA Regional appearance and three individual at-large NCAA appearances in the last four seasons. The Spiders placed second at the Atlantic 10 Championship each of the last three years. The Long Island, N.Y. native was named Virginia's State Coach of the Year after leading the Spiders to the 2006 NCAA East Regional in his first year at Richmond. In his time leading the Richmond program, Decker has seen five players earn All-Region honors, 12 named All-American Scholars, six named Atlantic 10 All-Academic, 19 Atlantic 10 All-Conference selections, one All-Conference Rookie of the Year and one A-10 individual champion. The Spiders have finished in the top-5 at the Atlantic 10 Championship in all 11 seasons Decker has been at Richmond. The 2015-16 Spiders were led by precocious sophomore Matthew Lowe. He set a new school record for lowest season stroke average (71.91) and also shot a school-record round of 63 (-8) on his way to an NCAA At-Large berth. Lowe and senior David Germann both earned All-Atlantic 10 honors as the Spiders placed second in the Atlantic 10 championships. Decker was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year. In 2014-15, the Spiders came together at the right time in the Atlantic 10 tournament posting a second-place finish behind the spectacular performance of freshman Matthew Lowe. Lowe earned A-10 Rookie of the Year honors after posting a -7 and finishing second in the tournament. His 54-hole total of 209 tied for fourth all-time in Richmond history. Lowe and senior Danny Pizetoski earned All-Conference honors. Richmond was the only school with two players to both shoot under par for the tournament. The 2013-14 campaign was a banner year for Decker and the Spiders. He coached standout Pizetoski to a spectacular season that saw the junior win the A-10 individual title, advance to an NCAA Regional and compete in the U.S. Amateur. Pizetoski became the first Spider to win three tournaments in a single season. Richmond came in second place in the A-10 championship, finishing just one stroke behind VCU. In 2012-13, Richmond senior Daniel Walker earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Regional, where he tied a school record score of 12-under-par 204 to tie for second place. That earned him one of six individual at-large bids to the 2013 NCAA National Championship. Decker had a very successful collegiate playing career at Penn State, capped by earning All-America honors and being named Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year as a senior in 1997. He led the Nittany Lions to the 1996 NCAA East Regional where he finished as the runner-up. Decker also earned All-Mid Atlantic Region honors as both a sophomore and senior. Decker is currently ranked sixth on Penn State's all-time career-list for stroke average at 74.90. After graduating from Penn State, Decker played six years of professional golf, including PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour events. He competed on the Mid-Atlantic Tour before successfully qualifying for the PGA Tour's 1998 Kemper Open. He also played in the 2000 Florida Classic, 2001 Hershey Open and the 2001 Greater Cleveland Open. In 1999, Decker married Erin Suvak, who also played golf at Penn State. The couple traveled the East Coast playing various mini-tours and from 1999 through 2001, Decker won four times on three different tours. He also advanced to the second stage of PGA tour qualifying several times. Before returning to State College for the 2004-05 season as the assistant coach, the couple spent the previous two years on the New England Pro Tour. They decided to settle down when their baby, Kelly Rose, joined the family in August of 2004. The Long Island, N.Y. native came to Richmond after spending one year as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Penn State, where he helped lead the Nittany Lions to the 2005 NCAA East Regional. While coaching at Penn State under his former mentor, Greg Nye, Decker was responsible for player development, recruiting and the Nittany Lions' annual home event, the Rutherford Intercollegiate. Decker spent two years as an assistant golf professional at Caves Valley Golf Course in Baltimore, Md., where he completed his requirements for PGA Membership. Decker resides in Richmond with his wife, Erin, and have two children.

Ali Wright
Head Coach
Wright and the Richmond Spiders. She led the squad to the program's first conference championship and trip to the NCAA Regionals in Palo Alto. Wright was named Patriot League Coach of the Year as the Spiders held off Boston University to win the conference title in just the second year in the league. Wright's first recruiting class came up big as three freshmen (Isabella Rusher, Sophie DiPetrillo and Annie Collom) competed in every tournament in the starting lineup and DiPetrillo earned Patriot League First Team honors and Collom was named to the Second Team. Rusher, meanwhile, twice tied the school record with rounds of 69 (-3). Senior Jessica Lydia also earned Patriot League First Team honors after placing third in the conference championship and leading the team in stroke average. She finished her career with the second-best stroke average (77.57) in school history. In her first season with the Spiders, Wright led the Spiders to a fourth-place finish at the Patriot League Championships. It marked Richmond's first year in the new conference. Freshman Elsa Diaz and junior Jessica Lydia both earned All-Conference accolades for their top-10 finishes. The Spiders improved four spots over their eighth-place finish in the CAA a season before. Wright came to Richmond following a very successful nine-year stint as the head womens golf coach at Longwood University. Prior to Longwood, Wright was assisting the head coach at Ball State University during the fall of 2005, following a year as a graduate teaching assistant at her alma mater, the University of Louisville, where she was a four-year standout for the Cardinals. In 2012-13, Longwood posted four top-five efforts and seven top-10 finishes overall in 10 events, posting a team average of 308.48 and finishing third at the Big South Conference Championship. Longwood placed three student-athletes on the 2010-11 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division I All-Scholar Team. The Lancers ranked 12th among the 2009 NGCA Division I All-Scholar Teams with an overall combined team GPA of 3.658, including four student-athletes named NGCA All-American Scholars. At Ball State, Wright conducted video swing analysis of team members and recruits while assisting in recruiting as well. She also initiated fundraising efforts by locating and contacting a target market for boosters while creating the booster program with rewards incentives. At Louisville, Wright taught physical education classes that included sections of golf where she filmed, edited, and provided feedback of over 150 golf swings. Wright has also worked at the Hidden Lake Golf Club (1996-2004), and was an assistant to the head professional at the Swing It Golf School (2002-04). As an undergraduate student-athlete at Louisville, Wright earned 11 top-20 individual finishes and served as a team captain during her senior year after helping the Cardinals advance to the NCAA Regional Tournament in 2001. She also competed in two Bank of Montreal tournaments as an amateur and was a member of both the Canadian Amateur Team (2003) and the Ontario Provincial Amateur Team (2000-02). Wright was the 1999 Ontario Provincial High School Champion as well. A native of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, Wright earned her bachelor of science degree in business administration from Louisville. She also earned her master of sport administration degree from Louisville.
