Jack Rubano
Head Coach
Rubano studied for five semesters at The University of Scranton from 1994 to 1996 and was a member of the basketball program during that time, first with the JV team, then joining the varsity squad late in his sophomore season. Rubano most recently served as the head varsity boys tennis coach at Devon Prep Academy in Devon, Pa. from March 2010 until this past July. Prior to that, he was the head varsity boys tennis coach at Conestoga High School in Berwyn, Pa. from March 2006 through June 2009. From November 2007 to August 2009, Rubano served as the head women's tennis coach at Rosemont College in Rosemont, Pa, an NCAA Division III institution that competes in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Rubano, who also served as head varsity girls tennis coach at Merion Mercy Academy in Merion Staton, Pa. from August 2001 to July 2007, is currently a theology teacher at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He also has nine years of experience from 2001 to 2009 working as a summer tennis instructor and program leader at the Julian Krinsky School of Tennis in Haverford, Pa. After studying at The University of Scranton, Rubano went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. in May 1998. While there, he also spent two years on the basketball team. He later earned a master of science in education from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia in May 2000. He has 14 years of teaching experience in grades 5 through 12. Jack and his wife, Megan, a second grade teacher at Our Lady of Peace School in Clarks Green, reside in Waverly.
