Alma Mater: Birmingham Southern '15 Hired Date: April 2022 (Assistant Coach) Elevated Date: June 2025 (Associate Head Coach) Elevated to an Associate Head Coach title in June 2025, Ander Galfsky enters his fourth season at Chattanooga ahead of the 2025-26 season after serving the previous three seasons as an assistant at UTC. Galfsky was previously an assistant and associate head coach at Southern Conference member VMI for four seasons under current Mocs head coach Dan Earl. Galsky helped lead Chattanooga to a 29-9 overall record (15-3 SoCon), a Southern Conference regular season title, and a National Invitation Tournament (NIT) championship during the team's historic 2024-25 campaign. The Mocs matched a program record for wins in a single season (29) while tying for the second-most regular season SoCon wins (15) in a season and most since 2015-16. The 2024-25 Chattanooga squad finished the season winning 17 of its final 18 games including a program-record, 10-straight true road games. The 12 true road wins during the season matched a program record while also improving the team's record to 47-29 (.644) in true road games since 2020, the most among all NCAA Division I programs over that span. Galfsky was named interim head coach of the VMI basketball program on March 31, 2022 following Earl's departure to the Scenic City before accepting his new role at UTC. During his time with the Keydets, Galfsky helped lead the team to its first winning season since 2013-14 behind a 13-12 (11-1 at home) mark in the 2020-21 season. That team also made a Southern Conference semifinal appearance for the first time since 2003. Galfsky helped oversee the transformation of Southern Conference star center Jake Stephens, who finished the 2021-22 season averaging 19.6 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while shooting a blistering 49.0% from three. VMI ranked first and second, respectively, in all of NCAA Division I basketball in three-point shot attempts over the past two seasons. Before arriving at VMI, Galfsky served as Director of Basketball Operations at Campbell under head coach Kevin McGeehan and played a vital role in leading the Camels to three-consecutive postseason appearances. Campbell captured the Big South regular season title in 2019 and competed in the NIT for the first time in program history which followed a semifinal appearance in the CBI in 2018 and a quarterfinal appearance in the 2017 CIT. At Campbell, Galfsky oversaw responsibilities that included internal scheduling, liaison to support staffs, directing team managers, equipment ordering and ticket requests, in addition to serving as Director of Campbell Basketball Camps. In his first season, Galfsky handled travel logistics, film exchange, video analysis of games and practices while also playing a support role in camps, alumni events and on-campus visits. Prior to Campbell, Galfsky served as an athletics department graduate assistant during the 2015-16 academic term at Auburn while working in performance analysis software programs. He also served as game/event manager for gymnastics and women’s tennis while assisting in game operations for football, volleyball, men’s tennis, and softball. During his collegiate playing career at Birmingham-Southern, Galfsky played on a SCAC regular season championship team that earned an NCAA Division III national tournament berth. His coaching experience includes serving as 15U and 16U assistant coach for the Nike/Adidas Southeast Elite AAU team in Birmingham and working in camps conducted by Birmingham-Southern, Lausanne Collegiate, the University of Mississippi and the Memphis Grizzlies. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Galfsky was an all-state performer at Lausanne Collegiate. Galfsky graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a B.A. in history in 2015. He and his wife, Mary Katherine, were married in the summer of 2017. Updated July 2025

Alan Treakle

Hired: May 2022 (Graduate Assistant) Elevated: June 2023 (Director of Basketball Operations) Alma Mater: University of Mount Olive '22 Alan Treakle enters his fourth season on the Chattanooga bench and third as Director of Basketball Operations ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Treakle earned the promotion to DOBO before the 2023-24 season after serving as a Graduate Assistant during head coach Dan Earl's first season in 2022-23. Treakle has helped Chattanooga compile a 68-38 (.642) overall record and a 34-20 (.629) mark in Southern Conference play over Earl's first three seasons at the helm. Finishing 29-9 overall and 15-3 in SoCon play in 2024-25, the Mocs claimed both the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) championship and SoCon regular season title while matching the program's record for most wins (29) and tying for the second-most SoCon victories (15) in a single season. Tom Kiely
Assistant Coach
Alma Mater: Seton Hall '18 Hired Date: April 2022 (DOBO; 2022-23 Season) Hired Date: May 2026 (Assistant Coach) Tom Kiely enters his first season as Assistant Coach, and second total at Chattanooga, ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. Kiely returns to the Scenic City after spending the past three seasons at Farleigh Dickinson (NCAA DI - Northeast Conference) under head coach Jack Castleberry. Kiely originally served as the Director of Basketball Operations (DOBO) with the Mocs during the 2022-23 season, Earl's inaugural season with the Mocs. In addition, Kiely served as a DOBO under Earl for the previous four seasons at VMI before hopping over to Chattanooga following the hire. Kiely helped the Mocs reach the 2023 SoCon Tournament title game and was key in helping develop the program’s standout three-point attack as well as all-league big man Jake Stephens. Kiely was hired to join Castleberry’s first staff at FDU ahead of the 2023-24 season and has been instrumental in the program’s success over the past three seasons. Working primarily with the Knights’ frontcourt, Kiely helped develop five All-NEC selections during his tenure while coordinating the team’s scheduling and compliance operations within his off-court responsibilities. During his time at VMI, Kiely oversaw numerous operational tasks including team travel, scheduling, facilities and directing Dan Earl Basketball Camps. He worked alongside numerous areas of support staff in addition to on-court tasks. Kiely helped VMI to one of its most successful runs in program history as the Keydets posted consecutive .500 seasons (2020-22) for the first time since 2010-12 and just the second time in program history since a four-year stretch from 1974-78. Kiely served as a student manager for the men’s basketball team at Seton Hall, his alma mater, for four years. He helped create and develop recruiting mail, served as video coordinator for practice and games, executed team meals and planned logistics. Kiely was a member of the 2016 BIG EAST Tournament Championship staff. From May 2016 to August 2018 Kiely served as a recruiting coordinator for Hoop Group in Reading, Pennsylvania, working closely with directors to find, evaluate and recruit top talent to the Elite Camp. He worked directly with the vice president on tasks such as running the camp draft, the All-Star meeting, and recruiting and registering campers for various sessions. Other work experience includes serving as a camp counselor at Kevin Willard Basketball Camps from July 2015-18 and for Duke University Basketball Camps in July of 2015. Kiely graduated from Seton Hall in May of 2018 with a bachelor’s degree with dual concentrations in marketing and management. Updated May 2026.

Ricardo Rush, Jr.
Assistant Coach
Alma Mater: University of Maryland Hired Date: June 2023 Ricardo Rush, Jr., enters his third season as an assistant coach at Chattanooga ahead of the 2025-26 season after previously serving in the same capacity at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) for the previous two seasons from 2021-23. He arrives in the Scenic City carrying a vast amount of coaching experience through various levels of the basketball ranks. Rush helped lead Chattanooga to a historic 2024-25 season in which the program finished 29-9 overall, captured its first-ever National Invitation Tournament (NIT) title and earned its 13th SoCon regular season title behind a 15-3 mark in league play. UTC matched a program record for most wins (29) in a single season while totaling its second-most league wins (15) in the process. Before his tenure at NJIT, Rush, Jr., spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Salt Lake Community College (JUCO) which covered the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season and the 2020-21 campaign. In his two seaons on the bench at SLCC, the Bruins went a combined 49-9 over the stretch which featured a pair of NJCAA National Tournament appearances. The Bruins entered the 2019-20 NJCAA Tournament on a 15-game win streak and carried a 29-4 (12-0 SWAC) overall record into the event before COVID shutdown competitions across the country. SLCC went 20-5 (12-3 SWAC) during the 2020-21 slate and ranked 10th among all NJCAA programs in scoring behind a 90.2 points per game average. Prior to his SLCC tenure, he led on-court coaching, logistics, recruiting and player evaluations for the DC Blue Devils, a grassroots AAU program located in the Washington, D.C., area. Rush, Jr., has helped develop over 40 NCAA Division I student-athletes through the DC Blue Devils organization which competed on the Under Armour Circuit. He helped the development of the 2017 NBA Draft's first overall pick, Markelle Fultz. Rush, Jr., served for four years as a student-manager at the University of Maryland under National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame coach Gary Williams and former coach Mark Turgeon. After graduation, Rush, Jr., joined the Basketball Operations department for the Orlando Magic for two seasons, during that time he assisted with the NBA draft process and managed the SportVu data tracking system where he reviewed and analyzed player statistics and real time player and ball positioning. Rush, Jr., is a native of Mitchellville, Maryland and graduated from The University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Updated July 2025
