Jeremy Provence

Assistant Coach

Provence returned to his alma mater for the 2014 season to serve as the head mens and womens cross country coach after a record-setting career as a student-athlete. Provence was also named the head men's and women's indoor and outdoor track coach on December 11, 2014. Provence quickly injected energy into the program behind enthusiasm and high expectations. Provence led the women's track program to the school's first American Southwest Conference Championship appearance (2016). With an outstanding recruiting class under his belt, the 2016-2017 season promises to be even more competitive.  Provence, a native of Bidville, Ark., ran four years at Ozarks, and owns the second-fastest 8K time (25:54) in school history. He is the only runner in men's program history to earn Capital One Academic All-District honors and one of only two runners to be a member of the US Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team.  Provence participated in four NCAA III Regional races during his career at Ozarks. He was named to the USTFCCCA All-Region Team and All-Conference Team in 2011 and was a member of the American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team three times. Following his standout running career, Provence served as a volunteer assistant for the mens and womens cross country program at NCAA II University of West Florida in 2012 and then was a graduate assistant during the 2013 season at UWF. Provence holds a USA Track and Field Level Two certification. Provence received his bachelors degree in physical education from Ozarks in 2012. He received his master's degree in health, leisure, and exercise science with an emphasis in exercise science from UWF in 2014. In addition to coaching, Provence is an adjunct instructor for the health science program at Ozarks.
