Jones. The Tigers ran their way to the best performance in program history on at the WCC Championships in 2015, finishing in eighth place in the marquee event of the West Coast Conference season. Lindsay Wourms finished in 21:25.2, the best individual performance in program history. Becky Grabow also eclipsed the programs previous record. The total team time of 111:39 was more than 13 minutes faster than the overall team performance in 2013, the Tigers first year in the West Coast Conference. 2013 represented the start of a new era for the Pacific Cross Country and Track programs, as Josh Jones led his team into the West Coast Conference. The team set program records in the 6K distance, with Wourms taking down the school record with a time of 22:08 at the NCAA West Regionals in Sacramento. The Track program saw program records fall in the 100m, 200m, 1500m, 3000m, 2 mile and 5000m distances, as well as the first Pacific entrant into the high jump event. 2012 saw the 5K school record fall, as then-freshman Lindsay Wourms took down the previous mark at the Bronco Invite on October 13. In 2011, Jones oversaw Katie Castro's breaking of the Freshman 6K record. She went on to collect Pacific's first ever Big West Cross Country Runner of the Week award in early October. In 2010, Jones led Pacific to its third-fastest Big West Championships finish in the past six seasons. He helped shave over 11 minutes off from the previous season, and every runner on his squad set a personal record time in the 6K. Throughout the season his team set 12 personal records and set three Pacific All-Time records. The season concluded with Katie Bella being named to the Fall Academic All-Big West Team. Jones' first season with the Tigers was a year of growth and continual improvement. He had two runners race in the NCAA Western Regional, and numerous runners set personal records throughout the season. The 2009 season finished with Kristina Hammarstrom named to the Fall Academic All-Big West Team. Josh Jones was hired as the Tigers' Cross Country head coach on June 22, 2009. "I'm excited to work for such a fine institution such as University of the Pacific," said Jones upon hiring. "I look forward to working with the athletes and starting a fine tradition for the Cross Country Program." Jones was the Head track and field coach at Hannibal-LaGrange College in Hannibal, Mo., from August to December of 2007, designing and implementing the program. He was also a professor in physical education. Since returning to the area in December of 2007, Josh has been a physical education teacher at Kohl Elementary School in Stockton, and served in the same capacity in Tracy from August of 2004 to August of 2007. Earlier in 2004, he served as a volunteer coach at Sacramento State with the track and field team, working with multi-eventers and pole vaulters. He began his college coaching career at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., as an assistant track coach from August of 2001 to October of 2003. An outstanding track athlete, Josh was a National Junior College Decathlon Champion at Mesa College in Mesa, Ariz., and was a two-time Junior College All-American. He also excelled at Liberty University as a student-athlete, earning NCAA Division I All-America honors in 2000. He graduated from Liberty University with a degree in physical education. Jones received his master's in exercise science in 2007 from California University of Pennsylvania. Josh resides in Stockton with his wife, Cheryl, who played division I soccer at Liberty University. Brittainy Chown
Assistant Coach
Chown ranks second all-time in the long jump at Humboldt with a height of 18'9" in 2012. Brittainy was named Humboldt's 2011 Field Athlete of the Year as well as the HSU 2012 Track Athlete of the Year during her time at the Arcata campus. Additionally, Chown finished in second Place in Long Jump at the CCAA Championships in 2012. Chown is the long jump record holder at High School. In addition, she was named Track and Field MVP each year from 2006-09 and won the HDNL Long Jump Championship each year from 2007-09. She was also the NCS Redwood Empire Long Jump Champion in 2008 and 2009. In addition to prowess in Track and Field, Chown was Mckinleyville's MVP in Soccer in 2008. A 2013 graduate of Humboldt State, Brittainy is currently pursuing her master's degree in Health, Exercise and Sport Science from Pacific. Orange and Black Ball
