Gary Malloy
Head Coach
Malloy is in his 17th season as part of the Lancer coaching staff. With the Lancers, Gary has helped helped lead 24 OUA and 14 CIS Championship teams in track and field and cross country. He has also coached numerous CIS All-Canadians in cross country and track and field including Lancer All-Stars Cristiano Mauricio, Brandon Young, Dave Weston and Paul Janikowski. Gary is a Level III certified coach in endurance events and has previously coached at Catholic Central High School (1986-93), St. Joseph's High School (1993-2001) and currently coaches at Assumption College (since 2001). He was also the distance coach with the Windsor Legion Track and Field Club for 15 years. He coached 14 WECSSAA Championship teams, six SWOSSAA Championship teams and two OFSAA Championship teams while at St. Joseph's High School in cross country and track and field. An experienced coach also at the national and international level, Gary has served as coach of two National Championship teams in Junior Mens Cross Country with Windsor Legion. In the last 10 years, Gary has had eight athletes compete at the World Cross-Country Championships and has attended 3 FISU World University Championships in Cross-Country as the personal coach of several Lancer athletes. Gary is a recently retired teacher with the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board. He is a past recipient of the OFSAA Leadership in School Sport Award and a two-time recipient of the Pete Beach Award for service to High School Athletics. An accomplished runner throughout his own university career, Gary was a member of the the Lancer cross country and track and field programs from 1980-82 while earning his degree at the University of Windsor. Gary Malloy is the Head Coach of the Lancer Cross Country team and also serves as a middle distance coach for the Lancer Track and Field program. A native of Glasgow, Scotland, Coach Malloy is in his 17th season as part of the Lancer coaching staff.
