Patrick Reilly

Head Coach

Patrick Reilly enters his third season as head baseball coach at UW-Eau Claire in 2025-26. In Reilly's first season at the helm in 2024, the Blugolds posted an 11-29 record. Reilly coached three College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections in his debut season. Reilly stepped into the lead role of Blugold baseball after serving on Winona State University's baseball staff for 13 years. During his time with the Warriors, Reilly worked his way up the coaching ranks, starting as a volunteer assistant in 2010 and moving all the way up to associate head coach in 2019. While at WSU, Coach Reilly has held multiple responsibilities including recruiting coordinator, fundraising liaison, pitching coach, and admissions counselor, among other duties. In 2011, WSU advanced to the NCAA Division II national championship game and claimed the Central Region title while having a team ERA of 3.54. Coach Reilly had many student-athletes receive honors under his mentorship, with multiple earning All-Region and All-NSIC awards. He also had a pitcher named to the Northwoods League All-Star game during the summer of 2016.  In addition to success through competition, the Warriors earned the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Excellence award for seven consecutive seasons. In 2020, the WSU baseball program posted their highest team grade point average in history with a cumulative 3.60.  Prior to joining the Winona State staff Reilly spent two years as an assistant coach at Iowa City Regina High School (2008-09). He has served as an instructor at the University of Iowa baseball camp. He received additional experience working in the front office of the Northwoods League during the summers of 2010 and 2011, handling the leagues' public relations and marketing campaigns.  Reilly was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter in the infield at Loras College. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Sports Management from Loras in 2007 and completed his Masters of Science degree in Educational Leadership at Winona State in 2011.

Dalton Roach

Assistant Coach

Roach, a standout pitcher at Minnesota State University – Mankato (MSU) and Eau Claire Memorial High School alum, returns to Eau Claire in his first season with the Blugolds A native of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Roach enjoyed an exceptional collegiate career with the Mavericks. While at MSU, he became the Mavericks' all-time leader in strikeouts with 371, set the single season strikeout record with 128, became the winningest pitcher in program history, and became the all-time program leader in career innings pitched with 281 2/3. Roach was also awarded many awards throughout his collegiate career including: Freshman: First Team All-NSIC...ABCA/Rawlings, Daktronics and NCBWA Second Team All-Region pick. Sophomore: Central Region All-Tournament Team. Junior: 2017 Tomko Award recipient as top pitcher in NCAA Division II...Garnered ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-American honors, CCA First Team All-American honors and Second Team NCBWA All-American honors...Named to All-NSIC First Team, All-NSIC Tournament Team and NSIC Spring All-Academic Team. Senior: Named to 2018 All-NSIC First Team and NSIC Spring All-Academic Team...Earned NCBWA Division 2 All-Central Region Team Honorable Mention and D2CCA Baseball All Central Region Second Team honors  Following his collegiate playing career, Roach was selected in the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft by the Houston Astros in the 21st round with the 642nd pick overall. He went on to play Independent League baseball in the Frontier League for the River City Rascals. Following his stint with the Rascals, he signed with the St. Louis Cardinals organization and played within their system from 2019-2023, making it up to the AAA level. Following his time with the Cardinals, he signed with the Chicago White Sox organization, playing with them for the 2024 and 2025 seasons in both AA and AAA.
