Reed Robelot
Head Coach
Robelot contributed to signing six top-20 recruiting classes and coaching five ACC record-setting performances. "First I would like to thank Mary Ellen Gillespie and her staff for giving me this incredible opportunity. Her leadership, along with the Phoenix athletic family, make this position a special place in the ranks of Division I swimming and diving. I am humbled and honored to inherit such an accomplished program from Coach Jim Merner and his staff. His legacy of academic and athletic excellence has paved the way for continued success. I look forward to leading our program into a bright, new future," Robelot said. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native helped the Hokies to 18th-place finishes for both the mens and womens squads at the 2012 NCAA Championship. In 2013, the mens and womens teams both finished in second-place at the ACC Championships. In 2014, the Hokies mens squad won the ACC Championship for the first time and finished in the top 20 at NCAAs for the third-consecutive year. Last season, Virginia Tech was the only school to place both the men's and women's teams in the top three at the 2015 ACC Championships and brought its largest squads in school history to the NCAA Championships. Prior to arriving in Blacksburg, Robelot spent the 2007-2010 seasons as head assistant coach of the Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers. There, he helped coach the WKU womens team to three-consecutive Sun Belt Conference Championships. He also coached the mens team to a Sun Belt title in the 2009-2010 season. During Robelots tenure at WKU, he coached numerous Sun Belt Conference champions, record holders, NCAA qualifiers and an NCAA finalist. A three-year letter winner at Louisiana State University, Robelot was named to the Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in 1998-2002. He served as a volunteer assistant coach for the University of Houstons womens swimming and diving team and as the head coach for the Houston Cougar Aquatic Sports in 2006. As the head coach, Robelot trained a number of Junior National qualifiers and TAGS finalists. Prior to his time in Houston, Robelot spent four years as the senior assistant coach for the Crawfish Aquatics, a Senior Medal Level Club, while completing his masters degree in Sport Pedagogy at LSU. During his stint with the Crawfish Aquatics, Robelot helped the team win three LSC Championships and coached several Senior National, Junior National and Top 16 qualifiers. Robelot will replace Jim Merner, who announced his retirement on May 8, following a successful 25-year mainstay at Green Bay.

Tara Dowling
Assistant Coach
Dowling joins the Phoenix after graduating from Northern Michigan University in May with a degree in Health and Fitness Management. We are very happy to welcome Coach Dowling to the Green Bay Phoenix Family, said Robelot. She brings a good deal of current knowledge about our sport to the program, and will really energize our recruiting efforts for the coming year. As we diversify our training, Tara will play a large role with our practices in the water and on dry-land. I am looking forward to her arrival. A three-time captain of the NMU Swim and Dive Team from 2013-2015, Dowling wrote programs for 31 athletes at De Pere High School, including dry land and in-pool training. She has also spent time at the YMCA of Marquette County, where she facilitated the Livestrong program for cancer survivors and shadowed the registered on-site dietitian when diagnosing clients. "I am very happy to have been welcomed into the Green Bay Phoenix Family, said Dowling. I am excited to work with Coach Robelot and bring my knowledge and energy to the pool deck this season. I am looking forward to getting to know the team and starting the season." Among her relevant coursework, the Marquette, Mich., native studied Fitness Leadership with an exercise specialization, as well as Human Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Physiology and Anatomical Kinesiology. Dowling rounds out a swimming and diving staff that will feature two new faces in 2015-16, after Robelot was named the programs head coach on July 24.
