Head Coach
Peter Gallagher will be entering his 25th fall as the head football coach at Ursinus. Since taking over the program in 2001, Gallagher has become the program's all-time leader in coaching wins, guided the Bears to the Centennial Conference title in 2010, three Centennial–MAC Bowl Series Championships in 2018, 2022, 2023 and an at-large bid to the NCAA DIII national playoffs this past fall. On September 11, 2010, Gallagher became the program's all-time leader in victories with a 10-7 triumph over Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster. Gallagher is the 27th head coach in the program's storied 131-year history and has paced the sidelines for 237 games passing Ursinus Hall of Fame coach and former Dean of Men Dick Whatley for most games coached in 2013. The sixth longest tenured head football coach in NCAA DIII, Gallagher leads all active Centennial Conference coaches in wins with 131. Gallagher has brought the Bears to postseason play five of the last six seasons including this year’s run into the national playoffs. The 2024 team finished the regular season with a 9-1 record that saw the team lead the Centennial Conference in total offense, rushing offense, sacks against, sacks by and opponent 3rd down conversions while placing a school record 16 student-athletes on the All-Centennial Conference Team. Running back Tony Holden was named Offensive Player of the Year in addition to the Ursinus coaches being named Coaching Staff of the Year. Quarterback Jalen Bradford recorded a single game school record 7 touchdown passes in a 53-50 win at Muhlenberg and Justin Collier became the schools all – time leader in touchdown receptions with 25. The 2023 squad finished 8-3 while claiming its second straight Centennial – MAC Bowl Series Championship. Fifteen players were named All – Conference including Ryan Bodolus that was selected as Centennial Conference Defensive player of the year. Bodolus was also named first team AFCA All - American, Phiily CoSida Performer of the year and Academic All American. Bodolus also set the all-time sack record with 33 enroute to being named the teams MVP. The 2022 team set many new program marks on its way to a 9-2 record. Quarterback Jack Psenicska leaves Ursinus as the most prolific passer in program history. He shattered the previous mark of 45 TD passes in a career with 65. He also holds school records for TD passes in a game with 6, completions in a season with 225 and yards in a season with 2,910. In 2022, Psenicska ranked 4th in the NCAA with 36 TD passes and led the centennial in passing yards per game. Kicker Dakota Wherrity broke his own single season record connecting on 50 PAT’s and tied the season mark with 11 field goals made. The defense was equally as impressive ranking 7th in the NCAA recording 28 take aways enroute to a conference leading plus 10 turnover margin. Fifteen players were recognized on the All-Centennial Conference Team tying the 2010 program mark as Ursinus recorded one of the most successful seasons in school history. In 2021, running back Samuel Ragland capped his outstanding Ursinus career by setting the programs career record for rushing touchdowns with 48 while earning First Team All-Centennial and All-Region honors from D3football.com. Ryan Bodolus set the programs single-game sack record against Dickinson with 6. Quarterback Jack Psenicska set the programs single season passing record with 2,853 yards. The team went 7-4 overall, highlighted by an upset win over eighth-ranked Muhlenberg on the road for Gallagher’s 100th career win. The team earned 11 All-Centennial selections in 2021 which was the most since 2011 when 13 Bears were selected to the team. In 2019, the team completed another competitive season and saw four student-athletes earn All-Centennial honors, highlighted by Samuel Ragland on the first team. Quarterback Thomas Garlick eclipsed a pair of program records during the 2019 season for career passing yards 7,492 and career touchdown passes 45. Gallagher's 2018 campaign was another one for the books. The Bears finished 8-3 overall and capped the year with a historic 70-14 rout of Misericordia in the program's first appearance in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series rolling up a school record 703 yards of total offense during the win. Junior quarterback Thomas Garlick became the school's all-time leader in completions and yards, while sophomore running back Sam Ragland led the league in rushing and ranked second with 18 rushing touchdowns. The 2017 season began with a run of five consecutive victories, including a stunning upset of Johns Hopkins that ended the Blue Jays' lengthy overall (45) and Centennial Conference (40) winning streaks. The Bears finished 6-4, registering their ninth winning season in the past 12 campaigns behind a strong ground game that led the conference in rushing offense and rushing touchdowns. Nine members of the 2017 squad received All-Centennial Conference honors, bringing the total to 131 since Gallagher arrived in Collegeville. Included among that group was freshman Samuel Ragland, who became the first player in program history to be named Rookie of the Year. The Bears established several new team records in 2016. Senior quarterback Sal Bello completed 39 passes in a 33-32 loss to Moravian, during which junior wide receiver Carmen Fortino matched the program mark with 12 catches. Additionally, quarterback Thomas Garlick set school records for passing yards by a freshman with 348 against Juniata. The 2015 campaign began on a high note, as the Bears defeated Division II Millersville, 17-9, in a five-overtime season-opening marathon. It marked the longest game in CC history, landing one extra session short of the Division III record, and was Ursinus' first victory over an opponent from a higher NCAA division since a 28-0 shutout of Division I-AA La Salle in 2007. Additionally, quarterback Sal Bello set the school record for passing yards in a game with 465 in a 33-17 victory over McDaniel. The Bears posted a school-record sixth consecutive winning season in 2014, finishing 7-3 with a 6-3 standing in CC play. Senior quarterback Kevin Monahan and senior wide receiver Darius Jones established new school records in the season finale against Dickinson, with Monahan passing for 442 yards and Jones racking up 263 receiving yards. Steve Ambs led the league in tackles for loss and was named a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award. The 2013 seniors topped the 2012 class for most wins in school history, boasting a career 27-13 mark. Chris Curran and Jerry Rahill rewrote the record books with their performances over their four years, with Curran graduating as the all-time leader in passing yards (5,438), completions (428), and touchdowns in a season (25). Rahill holds the career mark for receptions with 187, receiving yards in a season with 1,076, and receptions in a game with 12. Kicker Eric Boyer broke his own record by hitting 11 field goals and led the Centennial in field goals made for the second consecutive season. Eight players were voted to the 2013 All-Centennial Conference team. During the 2012 season, the Bears set a school record passing for 25 TDs while leading the NCAA in fewest turnovers. Curran set another school mark with a 93-yard touchdown pass to Jones on October 19 versus Susquehanna. Defensive back Chris Rountree became just the second player in Centennial Conference history to be named first-team all-conference all four years of his career, and Boyer set a school record with ten field goals, becoming the first Ursinus kicker to lead the CC in field goals and scoring since 1996. The 2011 season was a historic one for the Bears, as Ursinus played on newly renovated Patterson Field and hosted the first night game in school history on September 3, 2011 against Albright. Ursinus captured its first Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year award as senior linebacker Greg Martell was selected by the coaches for that honor. Martell was also named the ECAC’s South Region Defensive Player of the Year marking, another first for the program. Senior defensive back Shane Eachus was selected as the school’s sixth first team Academic All-American, while senior wide receiver Nick Giarratano set the school’s all-time mark with 22 touchdown receptions, surpassing Ron Floyd’s previous record of 19. Following the 2011 season, All-Centennial recognition came in double digits for the third consecutive year as the Bears placed 13 players on the prestigious team selected by the conference’s head coaches. Gallagher led the 2010 team to an 8-2 record, including a 7-2 conference mark. The seven conferences wins tied a school record set by the 1996 squad. During the championship season, Ursinus attracted national attention by being ranked or receiving votes for most of the season, rising as high as #21 in the AFCA coaches poll. Fifteen players were named to the 2010 All-Centennial team as the Bears won their first Centennial title since 1996. Gallagher guided the Bears to a 6-5 record in 2009. Boasting a 6-2 conference mark, the Bears competed in the postseason for the second time in Gallagher’s tenure. The six conference wins were the most in Centennial competition for the Bears since 1999. The 2007 Bears finished 7-3 with a 5-3 mark in Centennial Conference play, marking the first time Ursinus had back-to-back winning seasons since 2000-01. Gallagher brought the Bears to the postseason for the first time in 2006, competing in the ECAC Southwest Bowl. The 8-3 squad also tallied a 4-2 Centennial Conference mark, finishing second in the CC. In 2001, Gallagher led Ursinus to a 6-4 record, their third consecutive winning season. In doing so, he became the first Bears’ coach since 1931 (Jack McAvoy) to post a winning mark in his rookie season. Gallagher’s 2001 squad produced the nation’s leading rusher, two All-Americans, and the school’s first-ever Gagliardi Trophy finalist, given annually to the top player in Division III football. Gallagher came to Collegeville from the University of Rochester, where he served as the Yellowjackets' defensive coordinator. In 2000, Gallagher’s defense was ranked nationally in all four major categories as Rochester won a share of the UCAA title. The Yellowjacket defense broke two school records, produced an All-American, and had a player named rookie of the year in all three of its affiliated conferences. Prior to his appointment at Rochester, Gallagher enjoyed successful coaching stints at Dartmouth College, Wagner College and Georgetown University. Gallagher received his baccalaureate degree as a double major in business and government from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1993. He earned his M.B.A. from Wagner College in 1997. While at Wesleyan, Gallagher earned All-West Virginia Athletic Conference honors and was a preseason All-American. Gallagher has been an enthusiastic supporter of the “Be the Match” program through the National Bone Marrow Registry. Ursinus has hosted 15 “Get in the Game” programs over the past 17 years generating 25 matches that have given someone battling a blood cancer a second chance at life. Former running back Teddy Conrad and linebacker Tim Rafter have both received the Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation’s Gift of Life award for their courageous participation donating blood stem cells to a patient in need. Gallagher has sat on the NCAA Division III South Region ranking committee and is an active member of the American Football Coaches Association, where he holds a vote on the national poll. Gallagher resides in New Hanover Township with his wife Stacy and they have two daughters Kaleigh and Madison. Kaleigh recently graduated cum laude from Loyola University Maryland then completed her MS in Marketing at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School while finishing her soccer career on the Blue Jays 2022 National Championship Team. Kaleigh currently works for Authentic Brands Group in New York City. Madison recently graduated from the United States Naval Academy where she was an All-Patriot League soccer goalkeeper for the Midshipmen finishing her career 2nd in all-time saves and was named the teams MVP in 2022. Madison is currently an officer in the U.S. Navy attending flight school in Corpus Christi, TX.

Rob Quigley

Quigley will be entering his 14th as the offensive line coach and fourth season as the offensive coordinator for the Ursinus football program in 2016. In Quigleys second year calling the plays (2014), the Bears saw their offense continue its rise, ranking eighth in the Centennial Conference in yards per game (344.7), third in points (31.7), fourth in in touchdown passes (17), and third in rushing touchdowns (22). During Quigleys first year as offensive coordinator, the Bears offense ranked fifth in the CC, scoring 27.7 points per game. Under Quigleys direction the Bears once again topped the league in time of possession, holding the ball for over 34 minutes per game and rushing for over 144 yards per contest. Coach Quigley has mentored a total of 20 All-Centennial selections, including three time honorees Mike DAmico, Anthony Figueroa, and Victor Jaramillo as well as two time choices Carmen Gentileand John Rinkus. In 2013 he coached a pair of All-Centennial Offensive Lineman in center Joe Polansky and guard Wilmer Barndt. Prior to taking up coaching Quigley was an analyst for Cushman & Wakefield in Los Angeles for three years. Quigley is a 2000 graduate of Georgetown University, where he was a standout offensive lineman, team captain, first team All-American, and a three time All-Conference selection. Quigley lives in Trappe, Pennsylvania with his wife Melissa and sons Trevor and Tyler. Recruiting Area: Southern New Jersey, Central New Jersey, California

Jeff Endy

Jeff Endy ‘15 enters his sixth fall at Ursinus, being named Offensive Coordinator after the 2022 Season. During the ’21 and ’22 season, Endy served as the Offensive Play Caller, Wide Receivers Coach, and Special Teams & Recruiting Coordinator. The Bears’ Offense in 2022 led the Conference in Passing Yards per game (291.3), and broke records for TD Passes in a season (38), TD Passes in a game (6), Completions in a season (240), and Yards in a season (3204). Ursinus’ Special Teams also led the conference in Kick-Off average, tied for Punts inside the 20, produced the leading Kick-Off Returner in the conference, and set records for Extra Points (50) and FGs (11) made in a season. After the 2022 season, Octavious Carter, Nick Schnaars, Dakota Wherrity, and Justin Collier received All-Centennial Conference Honors under Endy’s Guidance. A former defensive back, Endy returned to his alma matter after the ’18 season, after spending two years at King’s College as an Assistant Defensive Backs Coach and Video Coordinator. Before moving to the offensive side of the ball, he served as Defensive Backs Coach for the Bears and coached All-Centennial Conference selections Mitch Bradford and Jack Spingler. Endy graduated from Ursinus in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and minors in coaching and education. He also holds a Pennsylvania teaching certification in secondary mathematics. Coach Endy is responsible for recruiting multiples counties in Eastern PA, North Jersey, and New York. Jeff resides in Pottstown with his wife Danielle.

Ryan DiVergilis

Ryan DiVergilis '24 returns to his Alma Mater as Defensive Backs Coach for the 2025 Ursinus football season. A recent graduate of Ursinus, DiVergilis comes off a decorated career in Collegeville. DiVergilis was a three-time All-Centennial First Team selection at safety which was the fifth time in Ursinus Football program history achieved that feat. He was an All-Centennial pick in all four seasons on the team and he capped his career with a D3football.com All-Region 2 Second Team Honors in 2024. That season, DiVergilis tied for second in the Centennial Conference with three interceptions and provided one of the defining plays of the season by returning a 47-yard interception for a touchdown against Franklin & Marshall.. DiVergilis has totaled 64 tackles (30 solo) and broke up six passes while leading the team back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 1999 season. He finished with eight interceptions for his career and 216 total tackles. DiVergilis was a two-time team captain for the Ursinus Football team and was equally as strong in the classroom by becoming a three-time selection in: College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, PhillySIDA Academic All-Area team, Centennial Conference Hoor Roll, and Academic All-Centennial team. While in undergrad at Ursinus, DiVergilis served as the Athletics Operations Intern for the 2023-24 school year and was a Student Associate at the Ursinus College Institute for Student Success. DiVergilis began pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Business Degree at Temple University in January of 2025.
