Vassar College Women's Golf

Lisa Monaco was named the interim head coach of the Vassar women's golf team in August of 2019.   Monaco comes to Vassar from Beekman Golf Course in Hopewell Junction, NY, where she has served as a course professional since June 2013. She was also the assistant girls golf coach at Wappingers Central Schools.   Prior to those experiences, Monaco was a golf professional at Escena Golf Course in Palm Springs, Calif., from 2009 through 2013. Her experience has also seen her serve as a summer golf camp director for the town of East Fishkill, as well as golf pro at Westin Mission Hills in California.   Monaco, who is a PGA of America Class A Member, earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Marist College in 2000. She also owns an AAS in Computer Science from Dutchess Community College.   In addition to her PGA membership, Monaco is also a United States Golf Teachers Association (USGTF) Teaching Professional. Additionally, she is certified by the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA).

Ausanio came to Vassar College in the summer of 2014 after finishing her four-year career at Division I Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT in December. A three-year captain for the CCSU golf team, Ausanio was named First Team All-Northeast Conference as a senior, after finishing second at the Northeast Conference Women's Golf Tournament in 2013. After one season with the Brewers as an assistant, Anna was named Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator in May of 2015.  The previous two seasons, Ausanio finished in the Top 10 of the Northeast Conference Tournament, while also being nominated as a senior for the prestigious Gladstone Award at CCSU.  In 2013-14, Ausanio served as a volunteer assistant at her alma mater, helping instruct and giving coaching advice to the squad at multiple tournaments. She also has worked as an instructor at the First Tee of Connecticut, helping teach golf skills and etiquette to 6-12 year olds. Additionally, Ausanio worked at Tim Panzanaro's Golf Academy at Casperkill Golf Club here in Poughkeepsie. Ausanio is no stranger to the Mid-Hudson region, as she is a four-time winner of the Dutchess County Women's Golf Amateur Tournament, earning the title in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. She also was named the Westchester Golf Association Amateur Player of the Year in 2011.

Jennings, the 2009 and 2012 Liberty League Coach of the Year, led the Brewers to the Liberty League Championship in 2011 and the Regular Season Championship in 2012. In 2011, the team advanced to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 1999 and repeated the feat with an at-large bid in 2012, winning in the first round. As head coach of the Brewers from 1981 to 1985, 1989 to 1996, and 2004-present, Jennings compiled a 210-150-44 record as the winningest men's soccer coach in Vassar history. He transformed Vassar into one of the Northeast region's premier teams, capturing two Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference regional championships, appearing in seven ECAC playoff championships, and winning three Suburban Conference titles. Jennings, who had served as Vassar's first fulltime Director of Athletics in 1996, returned to fulltime coaching in the 2004 season. Over the last few seasons, he has transformed Vassar into a formidable team against non-league opponents and particularly inside the highly-competitive Liberty League, widely considered one of the top leagues in the country. Jennings picked up his milestone 200th victory during the 2014 season, earning a 2-0 win over Maritime College on August 29 to open the season. Since taking over full time as head coach in 2004, Jennings has produced 33 All-Liberty League Selections, five NSCAA All-Region players, two CoSIDA Academic All-District choices, two NSCAA Scholar Athletes and one CoSIDA Academic All-American. Jenningss Brewers have  earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014.     Jennings, a qualified Football Association coach, has directed numerous soccer camps, has worked with both the United States Soccer Federation and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and continues to be involved in youth soccer in the mid-Hudson valley. During his playing days, he played semi-professionally in England and also represented England Universities. In 2001-02, Jennings, while on sabbatical, gained invaluable experience with the England Under-17 national team and the Bristol City Football Club Academy program. From 1990 to 2004 Jennings also served as Vassar's Director of Athletics. During this time he spearheaded significant improvements to the athletic facilities including; a $16M additional to the field house (2000), $2.5M locker facility for outdoor sports (2003) plus other facility improvements and renovations. Jennings served as the Project Manager for the $7.6 million refurbishing of Prentiss Field that was recently completed. The facility includes a state-of-the-art soccer field and practice fields, lighted artificial turf field, a new baseball field to complement the sports medicine and locker rooms adjacent to the fields. Jennings graduated from Exeter University in England with a Bachelor of Education, received his Masters degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and gained his PhD in Sport Psychology from the University of Maryland. Jennings also serves as the assistant women's golf coach.
