Gina Wills

Head Coach

After being hired in 2015, Gina Wills is in entering into her 12th season as the head coach of the Washington and Lee field hockey team and serves as the second head coach in program history. The team has advanced to the conference title game in six of the nine seasons during Wills' tenure, including most recently during the 2022 season where the Blue and White earned the No.1 seed in the conference's regular season standings. The Generals postseason success includes three straight home field advantages through the postseason from 2015-17. That stretch was the first time in W&L history the field hockey team made three straight championship games and then earned a top-seed again from the spring 2021 season, fall '21 and again in '22.  Since the 2015 season, W&L has captured 11 major ODAC awards, a CSC Academic All-America selection in Tess Muneses '23 who also was named the ODAC's Berkley award winner and an NCAA Woman of the Year Top-30 finalist as a senior.   . Kylie Cale

Assistant Coach

Cale is in her third season as an assistant coach with the W&L field hockey program. Through two years, the Generals have a 22-15 overall mark and 10-5 record in the conference. In 2015, W&L was the No. 1 seed in the league tournament for the first time since 2005, and the team advanced to the conference championship game for the first time since 2005. Cale came to Lexington from Oxon Hill, Md., where she worked for the Gaylord National Resort and Covention Center since August of 2012. She began as a seasonal assistant manager of special events and was promoted to recruiting coordinator and most recently to a recruiter.  Cale was a four-year member of the field hockey team at Christopher Newport University, graduating in 2011 with a bachelor of arts in English. On the field, she was a four-time letterwinner and the team's leader in assists as a sophomore and senior. As a midfielder, she received First Team All-State honors in 2008 and she was a Second Team All-Region selection in 2009. Her 12 assists as a sophomore are the second-most in CNU history. Cale later served as an assistant coach at CNU for the 2011 season while earning a master of arts in teaching in 2012. Her field hockey experiences also include working camps and serving as a USA Futures Field Hockey Coach.
