Wells College Women's Basketball

Coach Carter has coached basketball at every level (JUCO to Division I) for more than two decades.  Previous to his current head coaching position at Wells College in New York, he held coaching positions at St. Francis of PA, Fresno Pacific, University of Maine-Presque Isle, University of the Cumberlands, University of Virginia, Merchant Marine Academy, Lock Haven University and the Community College of Allegheny County.             Some of Coach Carters accomplishments over his twenty years of coaching include coaching 22 all-conference selections, 9 all-conference Rookie of the Year or first-year selections, a Defensive Player of the Year, the Mid-South Player of the Year, and 9 all Americans. In 2014 Carter was named the Great South Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. 11 of his former players have played professionally and more than 20 former players have gone on to become commissioned officers in the U.S. Military.  A decorated veteran himself, Carter served in the U.S. Army and was activated and served in Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom.
