West Liberty University Men's Cross Country

Campbell returns for his second season as head coach of the Hilltoppers mens and womens track and cross country teams.     Campbell had several individuals make their mark at the conference, regional and national levels during his first year at the helm.     Womens cross country senior Leah Figurski earned All-MEC honors while Ethan Delekta won his second straight MEC discus title and placed in both the javelin and hammer throw at the MEC championship meet.     Junior All-American Alexis Montes led the womens track team, shattering the MEC javelin record by nearly 14 feet and earning her second straight trip to the NCAA Division II National Championships.     A native of Grant Town, W.Va. and a 2007 graduate of Fairmont State University, Campbell brought plenty of coaching experience back to the same hilltop where he served as an assistant coach in 2011.     After graduating from Fairmont State, he spent two years as assistant track coach at North Marion (W.Va.) High School his alma mater before entering the collegiate ranks in 2009 as head track coach at Montgomery College in Rockville, Md.     In two seasons at the Maryland school, his team produced 11 qualifiers for the NJCAA National Championship meet with three of his athletes earning NJCAA All-America honors.     Campbell then moved onto West Liberty as an assistant coach, where he helped develop five All-Conference standouts. Included in that number was Justin Frazier, who set several school indoor and outdoor records in the sprints while sweeping the 100 and 200 meter sprints at the conference meet.     Campbell came to West Liberty after a successful two-year run as head track and field coach at Johnson & Wales University, an NAIA program in North Miami, Fla.     Jeff resides with his fiancée, Bethany, and her two children, Mia and Mason.
