Alex Harrison
Head Coach
Alex Harrison begins his 10th season as the WestConn Head Women's Soccer Coach in 2025, after serving five seasons as the program's assistant coach dating back to 2010. Harrison has a 112-46-13 overall mark, including an 11-6-5 record last fall, and has guided the Wolves to the Little East Conference (LEC) Championship Finals in every season of his head coaching tenure. WestConn captured at least a piece of the Little East Conference Tournament crown in each of his first five seasons at the helm and the Wolves have made four NCAA Division Championship apperances under his watch. Under Harrison, WestConn womens’ soccer athletes have picked up LEC Rookie, Defensive and Offensive Athlete of the year honors, including both Rookie of the Year (Sophia Onek) and Offensive Athlete of the Year (Myah Croze) in 2023, and he has received the conference's coach of the year award. Harrison has also coached several all-conference and All-New England selections and one All-American during his tenure. WestConn has been ranked nationally and in its region several times since Harrison took over the program. Prior to WestConn, Harrison coached Brookfield High School boys' soccer, Ridgefield High School girls soccer and had a stint as a volunteer assistant for Central Connecticut State University's men's soccer. He is currently the Director/Ambassador for the A.C. Connecticut club program and has served as the head coach for the A.C. Connecticut USL Team and W-League Team. Harrison was a two All-American at CCSU, a two-time player of the year and the rookie of the year for the Northeast Conference. In his sophomore year, he led NCAA Division I men's soccer in goals. After graduating from Central Connecticut in 2007 with a degree in exercise science and health promotion, Harrison was drafted in the first round, as the sixth pick, by the Milwaukee Wave in the Major Indoor Soccer League. Harrison also played for the Wilmington Hammerheads in the United Soccer League. He resides in Woodbury, Connecticut with his wife, Lindsay and his two sons, Kaine and Blake.

Steven Lopes
Assistant Coach
Steven Lopes begins his 12th season as an assistant women's soccer coach at WestConn in 2024. He brings a wealth of experience, spanning multiple levels of youth soccer. Lopes has been an active coach and BOD contributor for the Danbury Youth Soccer Club for over 20 years. During that time he has coached various teams within the club and has also worked to develop the club's recreational programming, academy and off-season high school programs. Lopes has also worked with area programs such as SCOR, Soccerplus, CJSA ODP, YPDP and A.C. Connecticut, and he is currently working with the high school girls teams at A.C. Connecticut. In 2007 and 2011, Lopes was named CJSA NWD Girls Coach of the Year. Lopes holds his USSF National D and E licenses and USSF youth module as well as several other technical and professional development certifications from USSF and the NSCAA. Lopes resides in Danbury with his wife, Diana, and three children, Caleb, Jacob and Abigail.
